Just found out that the Off-Road Tacoma Off-Road has a brake booster, but I cannot find a pic of how to identify it. My Tacoma is a base model with the Off-Road tow package, but as far as I can tell it is not a fully off road Tacoma. It has the rear locking diff, the oil filter doughnut, the hitch with the 7 ping connector.
How can I confirm that my truck has the brake booster?

I mean all vehicle have a brake booster, most are vacuum. 09+ TRD OffRoad models have a hydraulic brake booster.

If you have the electronic locking diff you have a true TRD OffRoad as the locker is exclusive to TRD OffRoad and TRD Pro models.

The E-Locker rear diff looks like this.

I believe he's talking about the engine oil cooler which lives under the oil filter if equipped.

Yeah, slightly confused @secher . You should have the TRD Offroad package: Rear diff locker, ATRAC and DAC. Are you more concerned about the Tow Package and thinking of a brake controller? Since your post mentioned tow front and center.

That what I figured. I just have never heard it called that before. And I think OP is confused. The tow package has a trans cooler, not an oil cooler. Or am I confused?

EDIT: Yeah, Im wrong. The tow package has both the trans cooler and oil cooler.

FYI OP you need to read this thread:

It has the rear diff locker, and A-Trac, no DAC, because it's a stick. The hydraulic brake controller is for the full off-road package, apparently. Yes, towing is a major component of my (hopefully) purchase tomorrow.

Yes, under the oil filter there is an extra 'doughnut' to cool the transmission.
But yes, I am often confused. My first pickup, and my first Tacoma, obviously.

If your talking about the controller for trailer brakes that is not included with the tow package, but the truck is pre-wired for one if it has the tow package. The connector is tucked in the wiring harness behind the left kick panel.

Mine is stick, so no transmission cooler, just oil cooler. It def has the tow package, from the factory; I did the VIN lookup from Toyota. Thanks for replying!

Heh, I really should have been more clear. Why don't all of your weirdos just live in my head so I don't have to actually think when making a post! Sheesh.
Yes, it does have the factory tow package with the 7 pin connector and trailer brake controller connector under the dash. Apparently there is supposed to be a hydraulic brake booster, but I didn't know enough to identify it. I think I'm covered now, though. Thank you!

Absolutely. Oh, heh, I just used one of yoru previous posts to show someone what I meant by the doughnut. Sorry, jargon is not my bag yet. I really appreciate everyone's help; if I come across as terse I am getting a flood of responses and trying to get to everyone so they don't feel like I'm ignoring them.
Seriously, your posts are excellent. Thnaks again.
