So my new truck allows Toyota to read every bit of info from my truck in real time including my GPS location and speed. Now I have already turned off their gracious "complementary" safety connect/service connect but I am almost positive my truck's data can still be accessed by Toyota remotely if they desired. So can anyone instruct me, is there a fuse I can pull or a GPS sending unit that I can unplug or disconnect so as to make it impossible for my GPS tracking to be turned on remotely? Thanks for anyone who might have knowledge on this.

Ultimately the DCM module is the one that talks to all the cell towers. I do not know how to turn it off without disrupting the radio and bluetooth.

You'd have to replace the headunit to an aftermarket.

GPS antenna under the dash but it will render Nav, weather and traffic useless, FYI

I believe all the opt out details are in the manual. It is a convoluted process, but I think it does what you want.

Just as a note, the vehicle event data recorder will still record everything but would require a physical connection to view.

GPS does not transmit though. And, the systems are recording much more than GPS data.

What is the DCM module? If it uses cell towers it won’t be nearly as accurate as GPS, right?

Well the GPS data is what OP seems to be concerned with. Yeah the antenna may not transmit but if you yank it the mystery device that does won’t have anything to transmit I suppose?

I'll find the description, all the new entune 3.0's use it, so 2020+ its a huge pain in the ass to diagnose and work with.

DCM (Telematics Transceiver) It sends and receives content information. It also connects to the SOS function.

I can't share anymore information, you guys will have to dig into it yourselves.

Agreed, but wheel speed, accelerometer, and other data will still be recorded in the EDR.

I had the foil hat on hard when we had a car with unsubscribed OnStar equipment. Many times, I wanted to tear it all out, but then I got a smartphone. :D

EDR is at least locked and I have yet to see it accessed by anyone but the police or engineers.

It's crazy the information inside. It's for major collisions or lawsuits.

Agreed. Just saying that it is there and retains data after ownership ends.

I tried to view it with TS, but something timed out. Someone else around here noted that the info is very detailed.

The Event Data Recorder. It is talked about in the very front of the OM. I tried to asked Corporate about the intermittent transmitting statement, but they got it all confused with the Connected 2020s.

    From my pre-2020 OM:
