How can I make 295/70/R18 tires fit?

    Supercharged Bully Dog Chip Body armor accessories
    I have an 06 4.0 4x4 double cab that came with 265/70/R17 stock. My tires are worn out and I have been looking for some new ones and found a great deal on a set of 295/70/R18 with XD rims. I have a body armor bumper on that took away alot of the lower front bumper (if i would had to of trim anything on it) but what else would I have to do to make them fit. In the cheapest but most effective way?

    You can totally do it without lifting. Remove the strut assembly, mount the tire/ wheel, and lower the truck to the ground. Now cut out anything that touches the tire. Next turn the steering wheel all the way one direction, cutting off anything that the tire touches along the way. Repeat that last step turning the other direction. Now put the strut assembly back in and enjoy!

    Or you can just lift it and not have to cut as much off. 34 inch tires will look ridiculous with no lift, not to mention you will have no clearance between your tire and wheel well.

    You can fit it with a lot of cutting and trimming. I run 295/70-17 I'm lifted, did the cab mount chop and cut away all the plastic. It still rubs sometimes.

    Not really. If he doesn't do something about up travel we all end up at the same point at full stuff. A spacer lift will help, but that's just moving the problem.

    Wanting tires that big without lifting I see a big shitty drop bracket lift in the OP's future. Complete with under glow and color changing halos. He isn't gonna want or need to trim for travel.

    But he found a good deal on the wheels and tires - Craigslist, maybe? If that's the case, I totally encourage this kind of behavior.

    On the bright side: a harbor fright reciprocating saw is probably cheap? It may even work long enough to finish the cuts to get these things to fit!
