I have a 2015 4x4 dc 4.0 sr. I'm consistently dealing with axle wrap issues. What's the best way to solve this? I've been thinking about rear springs. I lubed the drive shaft slider. Yet if I stop suddenly in LA traffic I always get this. I don't have a lift or leveling kit. Yet thinking about doing that later.
    Thanks for any help.

What makes you think you have axle wrap?

How can you tell the pinion is winding up?

Usually axle wrap is on hard acceleration with grip. Or in high torque low range offroading.

Worn, curved leaf springs will do this easier, but its not typically a daily issue.

A quality set of springs will fix this, the stock Toyotas are awful.

A drastic method is to use traction bars, but they are usually for the big rear lift kits.

Yeah, If you have stock springs you have axle wrap. Ss mentioned, good aftermarket springs will fix it.

Hard braking and soon as I let off the brake the truck lurches hard forward. Already greased the yoke on the driveshaft. Yet is still does it under hard braking. It used to be more violent before I greased the yoke. Violent as in it would lurch 3ft forward. I can feel it on acceleration but not that dramatic compared to the lurching. So if it's not axle wrap and not the driveshaft yoke. What could it be?

I had lurching coming to a hard stop. It was caused by a hard late downshift. I even thought someone rear ended me at a stop light once.

Remedy was more transmission fluid, there was a slow leak on the output shaft seal.

I posted this a little while ago on another post, but related... It works as a band-aid.

Also check transmission mount. If the rubbers are bad, it can let the driveshaft raise higher on acceleration, which increases pinion angle, which bends the front half of the leaf pack more, which increases axle wrap. Easy test is to push up on the tcase, if the transmission mount pushes up easy until the limiting bolt hits, and you hear 'ting', rubber is busted.

Make sure to check the torque on the rear U-bolts. Should be at 73 ft/lbs. In your case, I think it's more likely normal transmission shifting, especially if it only occurs after hard braking.

truth is the bar itself is good and, for me, eliminated wrap and gained me a ton of performance at the rear. no doubt.

but the bracket is not finished, actually i'd say it's not even designed. it's a joke.

i have already discussed with Pablo and he's wanting to gusset the hell out of it at the axle housing and try again. i'm game for that plan. truck is gonna be in pieces starting next week so i may see if he has time to do it this round. i want the bar back, but must do my own bracket solution.

Good luck I’ll be on the look out for the end result.
