I love this setup. What’s your kayak length?

Thanks for the info! Is the back bar mounted as far back as it will go? How close is the kayak to the cab?

The back bar was about 2 feet from the tail gate. I had to space the bars kind of close together in the center of the bed because of the plastic trim piece on the bed rail, the only places I could get the brackets to fit under the Bakflip without trimming were in very specific spots. I just didn’t want to do any trimming.

The kayaks actually rest against the top corner of the truck cab, above the rear door. I bought cheap kayak covers from Amazon to protect the paint on the truck.

I actually literally just took the BillieBars off today and will be putting them up for sale shortly. It was a bittersweet moment because I love them but I need more space in my bed for some long trips coming up so I have a bed cap from ARE on the way.

Locking tonneau with Yakima HD - yes you can bring it all! The Yakima at its highest setting will allow a 29'er wheeled bike to go in no problem.

Yes. Definitely heavy but Taco has no problem towing it. I do have the Roadmaster Active suspension for the extra weight, and a KDMax Pro + XT tune. Gas mileage was about 9ish.

Had mine mounted up on the RCI rack for the first time a couple of weekends ago. Using two sets of Yakima Jaylow mounts. Needed to get them out of the bed when towing the camper.

    Hey I recognize that lake!

I have been just laying the kayak upside down on the roof rack, with on for my girlfriend in the bed. I want to build something for saddles or get two sets of j-hooks to put both of them up-top, that way we can load up the back for trips. Been going back and forth on which ones would be better though.

The Yakima Jaylow works perfectly with the crossbars on a prinsu style rack, super easy to install and load. I picked mine up on Facebook for half the cost of new, so check there or Craigslist

Prinsu-style rack + Malone Seawing racks works wonders when you have two kayaks (in my case, two Lifetime fishing kayaks) and want them to sit flat. Loading them is simple too, just get them into the bed, lift to the rear carrier, and push forward until it's resting on both front and back . So much easier than the J-style racks, and makes me less nervous about the highway wind. Plus, they fit in the garage with no folding needed as an added bonus.

Those sound pretty good. They would be so much easier than 4 individual saddles for each kayak too.

It still requires 4 saddles, but since the yaks lay flat it makes loading a whole lot easier, especially loading from the back. I can load it by myself, not a whole lot of lifting, just pushing and pulling. I don't have a pic of my truck with the saddles right now, but included a pic below of a side-by-side setup like mine (keep in mind I have wider kayaks than pictured and they still fit):
