Factory 2-inch lift kit with Toyota Heritage Grille. Added some heritage color tri-color vinyl to hood and rear.
Went to the Dollar General last night while visiting daughter....the shelf was still pretty empty....so I asked the cashier if they had any HW or Matchbox in the back. She went and asked the guy working in the back and she said no Hot wheels but had a box of Matchbox. I asked if I could see it...I'd place on pegs when I'm done. So she brought out the box and even opened it with her box cutter lol...saved me from using my handy pen. Here is a picture of the inside. Of course I grabbed the blue C-10's and a few others. Then I went to the Walmart and it was empty...all old stuff. I then decided to go to an older run down DG on the other side of town and the shelves were empty as well. I then saw these 1:40 trucks and grabbed a few for $5 each. These things are just super cool and the colors/details are nice also. and that blue just pops on the tundra in the right light (looks more like a Tacoma lol).

Is this a molded plastic insert?
The more I look at these, the more I want them. Any idea on the outside dimensions are?

It’s all wood including the insert. Has plexiglass sliding doors on the front. Not sure on the dimensions I can find out. They are the same width as the ones I bought but mine are a little taller. Can’t tell on the black ones but the red ones are stacked.

Looking at it again I can see I’m wrong. The red ones are the same ones I have. He has them stacked 3 high and 3 wide. Each case holds 160 cars. I’m doing 2 high by 2 wide.

They are on the pricier side but they are built very well. I had some cabinets I was going to use in this room but sold them to buy these cases. Just shy of 300 for the bigger ones.

Same problem here. Felt like they were doing no good sitting in Rubbermaid tubs in the basement. They are going in the “Hot Wheels Room” and the will be on display for everyone to see so I wanted to get nice cases to display them in.

i feel that id like to have them displayed in the office so when we are in there playing games i can see them but i dont have loads of room in there with one wall being mine and one wall being hers. i might try making something on the back wall and just take the door off maybe for the office since its never close then id have room for a shelf.

Here are some pictures of my dad's old cars.
    He certainly played with them.
No idea on value. Or if they are worth keeping.

Are these for sale or trade or anything? There's a few in there I'd be interested in but I haven't the slightest clue what they're worth

Not sure. Need to ask my dad if he wants them. But he's never kept anything in his life.
Everything he's ever owned gets "lost". Whether in a divorce, given away, or just "lost".

I also have more. But they were my uncle's. They are late 70's to mid 80's.

Even have some Matchbox that are older than the hot wheels.

If neither my dad or uncle want them, I'd consider selling them.
But I wouldn't feel right not asking them first.
Even though my grandmother gave them to me. (Long story. In short, she knows they'll NEVER keep up with them)

I might post some of the "newer" ones.
But there is a lot. Like 50+.
They are in better shape, but not sure they are too interesting.
Apparently, my uncle took better care of his toys. :D

Most of us are newer to collecting so seeing stuff from the past is always enjoyable. Perhaps I am speaking for myself here LOL I'm always searching for older stuff I missed out on all these years.
