All the custom cars I have were made by a friend of mine. He buys other cars for the wheels. Over the years I have posted a lot of customs he made for me with a lot of different wheels. I don’t remember the name of the place but @RLMoody posted a place that sold a lot of nice wheel sets.

1972 rescue series from England. Crazy that these are over 50 years old.

The guy who sells these is Robert. He is located near Columbus Ohio and I have ordered from him 3 times and he has been great.
I usually order his chrome Gasser wheels 10mm / 12mm for $22 a set which will do 5 cars. I just got an order today from him to do 15 cars.
I do swaps on all types of 1/64s. Hot Wheels are pretty easy with you just having to drill out the rivets. Worst part is getting original wheels off because they are pressed into the chassis. Plastic chassis pop out by putting some stress on the body. Metal is a bitch. I have a 2 pronged tool that pops them for me. I have taken them out with a needle nose as well but that destroys the axles. With metal bottoms its best to open up the spot where they pressed the axles originally. ME2, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning are all doable.
I do detail work, repaints and wheels. For less than $10 per car you can have something no one else has. I have 7 in the works right now. 3 of those Matchbox 57 Fairlanes and 4 of the Hot Wheels P1800 Volvo Gassers. I gave up on model kits when the price went over $25. These are just as much fun and don't take up as much space.

Also recommend Molotow Liquid Chrome pens for detail work on Hot Wheels. You can get it at Hobby Lobby $8.49 and the pens really last and look just like chrome when applied. Ill be trying to start posting again soon I hope.
