It looks like it uses the factory hitch as well.

Not bad looking and a decent price with the reverse floods, I might be a little concerned about the recovery point reinforcements...I don’t see any. It looks like they welded a big attachment point right to the surface of the bumper, I was expecting it to go through and attach to the mounting bracket or something. Almost worth a try for the price.

That's typical Chinglish; you see it all over the place over there when a non-native English speaker does their translations. You see it on shirts, signs, instructions, etc. and some of it is really funny.

It's kind of sad because they could produce quality products, they're easily capable of it, but unless the client specs every aspect of the product and has a representative constantly acting as QA/QC the Chinese will cut every corner possible, even when it really wouldn't cost more to make a better product. That said, it can't be worse than the factory bumper. I would like to see a better picture of the back of the bumper and how the recovery points are tied in- I agree it looks like it's just welded on over the frame attachment point instead of being a heavier piece of steel like it should be.

ETA- Looking at it, I bet you could scab a thicker piece onto the mounting brackets and be safe but as it comes I wouldn't trust it for a recovery. I'd bet dollars to donuts it would bend or tear lose on a recovery.

Yeah I was trying to figure out what gauge metal the thing is. The mounting brackets look a little heavier than the outer pieces but still nowhere what it should be for an actual pull. Welding additional metal on is going to ruin your "Premium E-Coating Process for 5-Year Corrosion Protection in Normal Use". Hey, it'd look cool at the mall though. :bananadance:

I just came across a guy who had this rear on his 2nd gen. Noticed the name, and here I am. It looked solid, not sure of function, but it looked solid enough I started researching

If you never plan on using the recovery points, I say good to go. If you ever need to use those d-rings. Nope

Decided to play guinea pig, got a deal over the weekend for $400 off the Ubox website for this bumper.

    71791DA7-8A91-4930-91EF-1D8BB9378461.jpg B2BB5E4B-2303-4CED-ADE1-62A19CEEFC65.jpg 7F1D91CB-99E9-403C-8722-7883D642CDF2.jpg 6C2A6CB2-46F5-4AD2-8E86-267BF5C74185.jpg

Welds are definitely substandard, haha! But honestly I didn’t expect anything less for $400. Kind of interesting that the D-ring mount points had a hole cut in the bumper for welding but they are still not reinforced. Outside edges are clean, the worst I saw is in the first image. Inside is another story.

    FCAD1864-A613-489C-A4CC-27FA6105D214.jpg F819A5CF-7CAF-44F0-9C1C-AC1135D4F503.jpg 52C46925-1FF0-46F8-A721-1D05D7875ACF.jpg

As for overall strength of the steel, it is stronger than the stock bumper, but realistically probably halfway between stock and a reputable brand bumper. This bumper will definitely survive shopping carts and a light fender bender with ease. My biggest concern is that I could get the outside wings to deflect slightly (less than 1/8”) if I put enough force into them. I do like to think I’m a pretty strong guy though. I only mention it because I’ve seen some videos of other bumpers smacking rocks and they don’t appear to even flinch.

Taking one for the team! :D I'm glad it's not horrible. Does the powder coating appear to be decent? From the pictures it looks fine but I know pictures can be deceiving. I think I might get one. I don't plan on ever hitting my bumper on a rock if I can help it. My current stock one is starting to rust inside pretty bad and this one has good looks and a little extra strength is a bonus.

I’m not overly familiar with powder coats in general but at least in this case the paint is very even and everything is covered so it definitely looks decent enough, I’m happy with it

Subbed. Might have to replace my dented up stocker with this because mall rated. I carry a hitch receiver shackle for recovery (as in just helping someone stuck in snow type stuff) so don't care about the weak unreinforced ones on the bumper.

Does it retain the stock tow hitch? Or does it come with one on the bumper. I’d use the bumper purely for aesthetics and use the stock tow hitch for pulling. But if this replaces the hitch, then nopeeeee

Also, curious, but let’s say I got this, it’s already powder coated but could I rinoline it before install to basically go on top of the powder coat?

Almost a direct stock replacement, I didn’t have to remove or even touch the hitch bolts. It comes with its own hardware, 6 bolts with all the washers and nuts

Looks great! Just what I need! I never go offroad anyway! I live in a city and what I want is a stronger bumper just in case some idiot texting hit the bumper.
