Installed a kit for only $45.00 off Ebay delivered to your door. They say it was for the 2nd gen T20250404_143526.jpg acomas but works just fine for 1st gens

Big Hood Strut doesn't want you to know a $15 strut and piece of bent aluminum and some cheap hardware will do the job as well

Good find though - I've seen people on here brag about their $85 kits

I seen some even cheaper than what I paid from California, but always look for closer sellers near the state I live in.

easy and cheap mod for sure, but I find it not helpful because you will eventually need to replace the lift support. Or have them fail when you snooping around in the engine bay and the hood slam on your head or fingers. My prop will always work.

This is a great idea but from experience I concur with the previous post by 02hilux. Be prepared for the hydraulics to fail and have higher ratings on hand. See my profile pics, the truck box has 20 lb rating for the struts on the box lids. When they failed after a few years and wouldn't stay open I took a gamble and replaced them with 40 lb struts. No apparent stress on the hinges and a little more pressure is required to close them but they've held up for well over two decades (this truck box has been on three trucks.)
