Hi everybody, wanted to see if anybody has added a hood scoop to their truck. Mine doesn’t have but I wish it did. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks man but I want to do it myself rather than swap. The odds of me finding a swap close by might never happen. Wondered what guys did other than swapping

I've seen tons of scoops on jegs and other performance sites. I've never done it but I'd be interested to see it done

A few people in that thread have bought a scooped hood and all the parts. Then got it painted to match. Can be done for about 1K depending where you get it painted. Potentially cheaper to have it wrapped. If you search in that thread you can find the part numbers. Sorry I don’t have a link for the post atm. Good luck, those sleewps are sexy!

It’s not like a tundra hood scoop where you can drill and insert a scoop. It’s a different base hood as well.

unless you do an aftermarket option

The hood scoop. It's fake. We all know it. And yet it's glorious...

Gave up on finding the proverbial hood swap "plan" - they are few and far between (plus cash). Local body shop just finished my CAPA style hood, painted (perfect match, btw) on both sides OEM style (Revemoto does not "OEM style" paint on underside, who's prices now north of $1800, but they do have shipping costs), + OEM scoop bought on eBay (from dr_wankel - oddly, despite being sold as "unpainted", it came clearly painted a "midnight black" it had flake in the gloss paint- so I ended up 3M wrapping it in matte black - that , frankly, was a total pain in the a** - shape like that sure not as easy as wet on wet flat decal position method), cash and carry for $1174.

Toyota, you're not the boss of me. I have a scoop on an Off Road. ;)

I went to Revemoto and bought the OEM. I too was tired of trying to find someone to swap with so took matters into my own hands.

Same plan & thought here on ReveMoto (sitting in "cart")... but, then decided to check w/ local body shop on price. Glad I did. Those "group buy" days here on the ReveMoto hood scoop hoods are long gone (plus less crazy a** inflation days) - they got good prices on those, if you've ever seen that thread....:(

I went this route. Decided on going to a low budget auto body shop because the paint quotes were really high. Ended up with a low budget paint job. Color match (cement) was decent, but overall quality wasn't that great. As always, you get what you pay for. Wound up color sanding/orbital buffing it all out myself and improved it somewhat. I then ended up having a portion of it wrapped in matte black.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd forgo the painting and have it vinyl wrapped in all black.

Obligatory pic how it looks today
