Not even close. Those are two completely different trucks with different body designs.

Not even the 3rd gen 4Runner hood will fit. You need to cut, weld, and graft it.

Nothing. Unless you are excellent at body welding, bondo work, and paint work. The only way to get a hood scoop is to cut and weld.

I don’t know. Call body shops and ask. This is an expensive and time consuming job. You need a 3rd Gen 4Runner hood with the hood scoop, and a Tacoma hood. Personally I don’t think it’ll be worth it if you have a body shop do this, if theyll even do a custom job like this.

Why are you so adamant on having a hood scoop? If it’s just for looks then just buy a stick on one.

Pm me if you want any help with this, it’s not a hard job if you can weld and do a little body work.
It is a unique add on because it’s not a plug and play job so you don’t see too many of these mods, yes they do make a fiberglass hood with hood
pins too to hold it in place.
    Yes mine is functional
There are 3 ways to do this option,
    1) cut the 4Runner scoop into the Tacoma hood for a function scoop
    2) tack weld the 4Runner scoop to the top of the Tacoma hood without cutting
the Tacoma hood for non functional.
    3) buy a fiberglass hood, I think it has to use hood pins and probably not anywhere as strong as the OEM hood

All the stock Toyota hood scoops including the new ones have a closed inlet letting no air in or out of the scoop vent.
If you take the scoop insert out of the hood of the 4 runner you can cut the back wall off of the inlet at the rear and allow air to enter and or heat to escape the engine area.
It is not connected to the air filter or air for the throttle body in any way.
Functional in that heat is released through the vent when at idle and air is passing over the engine and supercharger from the the vent at speed from the top.
This is the insert section of the 4 runner hood with the back inlet wall cut off.

I made a similar one for my 2nd gen

This shows how vents in the hood can keep an engine cooler

So it's a hole, got it

Not busting your chops, too many people think a scoop does more than it does. Hood louvers etc work the same way, just fancy holes.

I like how scoops look, kind of a throwback to 60s muscle cars, but louvers and vents are usually a better bang for the buck.

When i was younger I was convinced a scoop gave a nice performance boost. It was one of many fallacies passed on from my dad. I was dissapoined the first time I popped the hood on a new mustang and saw they were purely cosmetic, couldn't figure out why they weren't connected.

Many years later I have a vast knowledge of things that don't work, just by remembering what my dad said did

And I learned a lot as well, some things just needed experience to interpret what he meant. Like "save your brakes" had nothing to do with cost. He spent most of his adult life as a truck driver, he often kniws what jes talking about, just didn't always communicate effectively.
