Bought SDHQ's hood hinge brackets and went to install them and realized that after the brackets are installed, there's only about three threads of the bolt itself in the hood portion.

Does anyone know of any longer bolts with the "bevel" near the head. Went to advanced auto parts and the guy said a normal bolt won't work because the bevel keeps the hood from moving around. Going to try Napa next.

Should I try pinching the bracket a little near the bolt hole so more of the bolt goes into the hood portion?

Or should I just run it with three threads in the hood and not worry about it.

Are the SDHQ brackets actually thick enough to not allow enough bolt to thread in? I ask cause I've had 3 different companies hood hinge brackets and have never had this issue with stock hood bolts with any of them.

If it really is an issue, I'm sure the little tapered bit at the bolt head doesn't matter anymore for alignment...since the bracket now sits under the hood hinge. So you'd be fine to replace the OEM bolts with slightly longer ones.

I don't understand what you mean by "pinch" the bracket to allow more of the bolt to thread in???

It threads into the hood but I feel like it's not enough threads (only like three threads are in the hood versus the whole bolt)

Ok if you've never had issues then I'm fine with it. I just wanted to see if anyone had any issues with this.

And disregard the pinching, I can't describe it over text
