How can I disconnect and where is it located ?if --I like to open the hood after a long trip, to let the heat escape. I don't need a display light to stay on. (To many unnecessary warning displays)

Also if I want to leave all the doors open to clean the inside , how do I shut all the dome lights, so as not to drain the battery?

With all the bells and whistles the one I think would be helpful would be one to indicate when the main battery is getting weak (not to get stranded)

    Than you
    Ken

It's a sensor in the hood latch. But I thought it should only warn if the truck is in gear, not when it's in park?

But what do I know? I'm 4 lugnuts short of 2 dozen. :D

Isn't there a switch on the dome that is labeled off/on/door?

That's not going to happen IMHO. A load test is the only way to do that.

But I do like having a SCII hooked up reading voltage. While not a battery indicator, at least I'm aware of alternator output.

My hood ajar alert always come on when i have the hood open while in park to air up my tires. It’s very annoying having to press the back button every 10 seconds to remove the “hood open” message to see the tire PSI on the screen. I disconnected the cable going into the latch but the alert still appears. Is there another sensor somewhere

No hood ajar light if you turn the truck off. Not that a gauge cluster LED would have any notable power draw compared to all the automated functions that happen in the background (like the fuel tank evap pump). And opening the hood after a long trip is unnecessary. You aren't driving a twin-turbo drift car with a packed engine bay...

The rocker switch between the map lights turns off the dome light. Again they don't draw much power. You can have the dome light on overnight and not drain the battery.
