I bought my 1998 recon new in 1997. It has a K&N jet kit, K&N Filter, and Supertrapp exhaust. If you use the filter without the exhaust or vice versa, it will bog down, but used together and the recon will rip. Aluminum rims save unsprung weight. I put 25 inch Maxxis Surtraks on back and that increased my top speed to approximately 55-60 mph. It will outrun my buddys 300 honda. Hope this answers your questions.

Had a Recon back in like 2000. They are SO beast. Bulletproof imo.
