@Sig45 a little late to the game but is the 10’ on an interior wall with the corner being an exterior wall? I would first do some investigating as to why it’s such a discrepancy. If this is a joist issue or something bigger. I would hate to have a new kitchen without a level floor, it’s like putting lipstick on a pig.

Both walls are exterior. It's an old house. Prior cabinets were crap and not level. Was a DIY job.

My floor drops about an inch towards the center line of my house. Not much you can do about it without causing issues in other places. Im doing custom toe kicks on my cabinets to mask it the best I can.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I had to do that on our previous house. Primed and painted 3/4 poplar for the kick.

Just rip a shim to the thickness you need at the same width of the joist. Pre drill holes then secure with liquid nails and 8 penny stainless ring shanks.

The cabinets I chose have a toe kick piece that should get me real close to the floor, and they make a matching quarter round that Ill use to hide any gaps. Thats the plan anyways.

The main thing here is where the dishwasher will sit. The new ones are tight as far as height even on a standard 34.5" cabinet. How tall are the owners? If they don't mind finished height on the long run of the L being 37 3/8ish then just go with your original idea of cutting rip strips. There's so many ways to skin this cat I'd explain the situation to the owner and get their feedback about height.

I’m in SoCal so not an apples to apples comp but in 2021 my master bath tile cost $4.8k for a tub to shower conversion and the floor. I supplied the tile. Shower was ready for hot mop (I did framing, shoring & curb) but that was only $400 of the quote. I did my own plumbing & fixtures. I did my own drain. I subbed out my own glass guy. Other than the bathroom floor it sounds pretty similar to the scope of your job.

With those long rip wedge pieces I can bring everything right up to the level line at 34.5" (as measured from the high spot in the corner). After that run of cabinets is installed, I could cut out the pieces where the dishwasher goes and the dishwasher legs would be used to level it. I'm thinking 3 long pieces for back, middle and front of cabinets.

    Sound somewhat reasonable/doable?

I'm installing vinyl plank flooring after cabinets, so that'll hide a little bit of the wedge, and I'll use a thicker toe kick to cover the rest and the expansion gap to avoid using that small shoe moulding.

Might be a good excuse to pick up a track saw. :D

Sounds like a fine way to do it.

As far as track saws go, I've been saying for 20 years I need to get a track saw. Somehow my long level and clamps are still what I use. lol

Haha. I'll probably just free hand em using 2x6 stock. Give the circular saw a little bigger footprint to sit on. Then glue & screw em down.

    Appreciate the input.

FYI , the newer Makita cordless circular saws come with a track compatible base on the standard style , non-plunge circular saw , best of both worlds

prime spot for a separate ladder kick and cabinet boxes that come without the integral kick . Level your kick ladder , drop your boxes on , install finished kick material to suit , you're done

install level but instead of shimming from zero to 1 1/4" , you average the overall out of levelness , trim 0-5/8" , shim 0-5/8"

Installed a few things for a client today.

One rad ass barn door and one huge ass front door.

Spalded maple at it's finest. The track is from Krownlab. One of the nicer kits I've put in.

Front entry door is 3'6" x 7'10". Solid core 2 1/4" thick. Heavy as fuck to do solo but I managed. Rocky Mountain hardware goes on as soon the the painters stain and clear coat it. Maybe someday the fucking window that goes above will come in. We only ordered it in June. lol

Yeah, I know what you mean! I used to live in San Clemente back in the day and things were kinda nuts back then! Thanks for the input though. I am going to do this work myself of course. I've never done it before, but I follow directions pretty well. Will post up when I'm done with progress.
