They’re all pretty similar, just buy one with good reviews and make sure it’s solid steel or aluminum, not a hollow square tube. I’d share the one I bought on Amazon but it’s discontinued, I want to say it was $30.

I just use the hitch pin... you can drop a recovery strap right into the receiver and plop the pin through it...

The only draw back to that is side load can tear the strap from the edges of the hitch.

I bought this one. No issues with it.

That said, if you don't mind paying a little more for an US made product, these seem decent

Don’t do this if you can avoid it! It puts a bending load instead of a shear load (which is what hitch pins are designed for) on the pin and can bend the pin and get it stuck in the receiver. It sucks to have to sawzall the hardened steel pin out.

In a real pinch/emergency I’d do it as a last option but wouldn’t have it be my standard operating procedure.

I have the smittybilt hitch shackle and it works fine. As others have said they’re all pretty much the same thing. The more important part is to get something.

Do you think the eyelet provided in this kit would remedy that?

    pinstripes. lots of pinstripes.
It would still be trying to bend the pin, but would probably help the situation. Why not go with a shackle mount in the receiver so you're pulling on the shackle pin and the receiver pin? Mine takes up less room than a single soft shackle and doesn't have the same weaknesses as synthetic rope.

That appears to put the pin in shear just like a tow bar. It’s doing the same thing as an accessory installed in the receiver - supporting the length of the pin inside the receiver so that it is applying 2 shear forces to the pin instead of 1 bending load along the whole length.

The strap is soft so it applies a distributed force (in red) along the pin and can bend it.

With a proper draw bar or accessory installed the pin is supported along its length inside the receiver tube so only 2 shear forces are applied at the interface between the draw bar and receiver tube.

That was my thoughts as well, just not near as technical as you ;)
So with that being said, would you ever feel safe using one? Or would you resort to the shackle system.

What made me interested in this setup was being able to keep it tucked away underneath the rear seats year round, due to its size.

I wouldn't hesitate to run the soft shackle hitch eyelet you posted. As far as the hitch pin is concerned it'll see the exact same forces it would with a hitch draw bar or Dring Shackle mount installed. No reason to worry about bending the pin with that setup, looks good to go to me.
