Just wanted to see what the general consensus was on some of the different tire carriers available on the market. I've had my eye on the RIGd Ultraswing for a bit. Anyone know if it's decent?

I’ve seen a few options, I like this option especially wanting to go with a hi clearance rear bumper and my wife really doesn’t like the swing arms. So I thought when hitting the trail I could just slap one on. Seen a few options this one caught my eye — Dirtcom trail swing…

That looks super solid! Do you know how much they are going for? It seems fine but it's a little hard to tell if it swing outs far enough to avoid a tailgate.

There’s a couple YouTube videos on it and I believe it swings all the way open, I can’t remember but I just know that was very well done.

Yeah biggest thing I want to avoid is it rocking or wobbling when I go over stuff. Seems like these are all pretty solid though. That video is perfect for breaking it down, thanks.

I own one and have rode it pretty hard. They retail for $1750-$1850 range now. I had the introductory offering but I forgot how much I paid for, I think 1K if memory serves right. No wobble compared to Rigd and Wilco. They open wide enough to avoid tailgate. You just have to remember to pin down the swing on the second hole when you lock the swing or completely swing it out. If you order yours specify to them you have a Tacoma and they’ll delete the first hole so there’s no guessing. Unfortunately, I had one of the first models so I didn’t get that option. I also have a bracket attached where I’ve mounted a Frontrunner drop down table and can have the option to mount a rotopax. When you go on their website and go to the trailswing page, that first photo you see is my blue Tacoma for your reference.

I have the Wilco and love it. It has a stabilizer to tighten it down in the receiver so it doesn't wobble. I have added the drop down table, carry's 2X1 gallon water rotopax cans and I added a TV mount for tailgating at football games. I'll try to post a couple of photo's.

I picked mine up used for around 700. One other note, I watched the video of the guy struggling to pull the pin. Not sure what the problem is, my wife and I can pull the pin no problem.

Yeah the cost of all the tire carriers has gone through the roof. I ultimately managed to snag a Rigd Ultraswing for $800. Which is still a lot, but a steal compared to paying full price.

Awesome details, I have been debating one of these and this pretty much sealed the deal for me. Thanks

I've had Wilco and Ridg, the Ridg has better departure angle. Both are very sturdy.
