I know there are a lot of LED bulb threads with reviews on Hikari H11 low beam bulbs in there (I've done the search... hence why I bought the Hikari's) but no dedicated ones with pics.

Vehicle: 2022 Tacoma TRD Off-road with DRLs and not the full LED package (obviously)... I would have added it in but I had no real options b/c of vehicle allocations.

    1st pic (stock halogen bulbs)

2nd pic (left Hikari, right stock halogen)

3rd pic (stock halogen bulbs both headlights) taken on same road as below but obviously different background lighting conditions with sunset

    4th pic Hikari's

I know not all the housings are the same...and yes I did read that pessimistic thread with all the temperature measurements and light dispersal with LED bulbs. But seeing is believing....and if you can't see the difference well then move on.

For what it's worth, the Hikari bulbs I originally got one of them was defective...and did not turn on hence the initial pics up close with only ONE Hikari Led and one halogen. I ordered another one and returned that package.

Hope this helps others decide "
HIKARI UltraFocus H11/H8/H9 LED Bulbs,18000LM,32W Prime ZES LED Equivalent to 120W Ordinary LED,High Performance LED Conversion Kit,Halogen Upgrade Replacement,Canbus Ready,6000K White,H16 Foglight"

    https://www.amazon.com/HIKARI-Headl...1632156344&sprefix=hikari+ultra+&sr=8-1-spons

BTW, I was bout to order the LED headlamp assemblies during the 15% off sale but decided to give these $72 bulbs a shot, and I'm glad I did... more money towards suspension and rock sliders :D

The third and fourth pictures show how much better the stock halogens are at illuminating distance.

I had the Hikaris in my stock projectors before the Alphas. I like them a lot.

Not a great test when the grounds covered in a highly reflective cover. The difference in color temperature all else being equal would skew the visual results. The hikari ultra earned its spot at the go-to recommendation for an LED retrofit type bulb because it works well enough, but that is not the end-all be-all of bulb recommendations. It outperforms the long-life H11 that comes stock, but it causes an increased intensity level lower in the beam pattern without an equal or greater increase in intensity in the hotspot. This effectively works to decrease your ability to see things at a distance as effectively as a halogen bulb does.

Did you lock your camera settings for all of your comparison photos? If so, please post what they were for each set of pics. Unlocked/auto-adjusting camera settings don't provide any ability to make a fair comparison.

That's bright LED! I've already bit the bullet because of this, and I'm just waiting on their latest Hikari Hyperstar LED for the headlight. I've already installed a 35watts 6000 Kelvin HID on my base model SR but I'm still kinda looking for something brighter and does have a more solid and focused light. If I don't like the result I'll put it on the fog light. Hopefully it is much more better than the HID. I'll try to take a picture of comparison when I'm installing it.

I have these bulbs too, While I like them, the seals on one of the bulbs started leaking (not the seal to the housing, the seal where the mount ring can rotate) Now I have no bulbs trying to get the headlight to dry out inside.

Update: just got my Hikari Hyperstar. Installed it in less than 30 mins. Way much better than my HID. 1st pic is the HID. 2nd pic is the HID on the right and Hikari Hyperstar on the left and the last pic is the Hikari Hyperstar LED. Pretty happy with it.1BD87941-375A-4868-A1AD-8B84B8A40B8E.jpg3F762936-827D-48BE-8C84-93CF166AB5D5.jpg 460D0B36-A3AC-477C-BB6F-07C1E95B51E1.jpg

The "hyperstar" has two parallel sets of chips, meaning either one set, or the other, or even more likely as the pic is relaying, both are not placed where the H11 filament is inside the headlamp, meaning they're not capable of focusing in the same way an H11/H9 halogen filament is. While I applaud anyone who removes an HID kit from a halogen projector, the tests from this thread should make anyone wary of going for LED retrofit bulbs. Some are close to functioning well. This would not be an example of that, despite the overexposed photos on your wall. Thats not the worst beam pic, or the worst LED retrofit, but its not great.

Hopefully your halogen projectors reflector bowls are not singed to a crisp from the UV out of your HID burners.
