In "early technical information " Gen4 thread
Lug nut thread listed as 97 lb/ft....Pretty sure Gen 3 is around 83lb/ft
    Is 97lb/ft correct?
    If so, why?
    Thanks

Happen to know if the 4 Runner SEMA PRO 17" will fit the new Tacoma's?

^You'll need to drill out the lug holes to accept the M14 lugnuts (which have a proportionally larger shank).

The tire will stick out a bit over 2" per side and probably rub on the fenderwell plastic when steered.

You'll also need to get hubcentric rings to center the wheel on the 4th gen's smaller hub pilot.

I torque my aftermarket lugs for my SCS wheels to 95. Never had an issue.

^FYI the 4Runner and GX460 owner's manuals specify a lower 76 ft-lb torque for aluminum wheels after 2014. Why? Nobody knows.

Seems super low to me. Never understood why it's so low on these trucks. Maybe it's the wide 6 lug bolt pattern?

76 lbf-ft is pretty standard across the board for Toyotas with the M12x1.5 nuts and aluminum wheels.

Some steel wheels or truck applications go higher, but if someone asked me about what the spec is on a Toyota, 95% of the time you’ll be right if you say 76.

(My point is that 76 is the norm, anything else is “higher,” not that 76 would be lower than expected.)

I’m guessing that the torque value is higher has the lugs are now m14 vs m12 on the previous gen
