Hi, I've browsed this site and others and I've just been wondering if it's normal to have a high clutch bite point on my 1999 tacoma? I'd say it's about 5/6 of the way to the top. It's got 157k miles on it and the clutch has never been replaced so maybe its just super worn in? I haven't noticed any slipping or anything else indicative of a clutch on its way out but it seems high compared to other vehicles.

The clutch springs get tired, the clutch plate is worn, etc.....all these things will affect the engagement height. Unles the clutch is slipping, there is still usable life. You'll need to adjust the engagement.

This is how you properly set the engagement.

You're probably getting close to wearing out the clutch plate
