Does anybody know of a hidden compartment where I can hide my belongings on the outside of the truck? I've read others posts and no I am not trying to conceal Ganja.. When I go to the lake or beach I'd like to lock truck but leave the keys hidden.

that was my other option, but I came across a free lockbox from a friend and it works wonders.

I used to always worry that someone was casing the lot and would see where I was "hiding" my keys.

I can't remember wear I saw it but we all have those side bed compartments in the back of the bed and they make the locking ones that require a key but I have seen someone somewhere who had a combo lock on it

    A few things
I got just a plain key that will only unlock a door for when I go surfing or spear fishing. I hide it on the truck in different spots. Feel around there are plenty of spots that you can hide a key in. Any of those lock boxes that are visible are just an invitation.

I use a magnet under the truck to hold stuff.

If you look underneath the bed behind the wheels, there's a ton of space where those bedside compartments are, all around them - I imagine it'd b unwise to mount an air compressor or other valuable component in this space (many crash pics show this zone crumpled), but it seems like an easy spot to affix a hidden box to the frame or body, or magnetically attach one of those hide-a-keys - like others have said above, frame near spare tire is right there

I have a plain metal key for mine. Won't start the truck, but it will unlock doors. Keep that key with you and hide the actual key in the truck. Doesn't matter if that one gets wet or dirty.

I don't think it's illegal to lock a key on your property.
I almost got one of those but be warned that people know how to break into them easily and a lot of people recognize them. If there is a way to hide the very unique cover, it may work better. I see people with them all the time because they don't look like a normal hitch plug. Luckily I don't want to steal their stuff

    That sounds more interesting...

I've been thinking about getting that hitch safe now that I have the hidden receiver behind my plate. Most people don't know I have a hitch anyway.

I have an idea. My hitch ball is secured to my receiver with a combination locking pin. There's plenty of room inside the drawbar to keep spare keys.

someone should invent a magnetic key holder that looks like a clump of dirt, and you can just stick it up in there anywhere your dirt strikes.

    someone get on that..

I used to sell a ton of these at stylintrucks.com when I worked there.
Don't sell them at 4WP but sell a ton of those rear covers for the bed box from Tuffy.
