Recently, I've had my eye on a 3-Ton floor jack at our local Tractor Supply Center store.

Since there is a Father's Day sale going at TSC, I talked the store manager into selling it for $190. I noticed this jack also sold by Northern Tool under the Yellow Jacket name.

Right now I have three Jacks. A little AC Delco 2-Ton that came with jack stands as a set. That little AC Delco was my first floor jack and did a good job getting me started. It is handy with suspension tuning work when you need a 2nd or small jack to hit in tight places.

Soon afterward I wanted more lift and moved up to a Harbor Freight to get 19". That has been a good jack. Though there are times when I needed more lift and would have liked a rubber lifting pad. While its steel wheels are heavy, it can be hard to roll around and position. I've really used it a lot over the past 10 years. Though I can tell its starting to show its age.

The new jack has a 23" lift. The extra lift helps with the Tacoma. I need a jack better suited for a truck.

Here's the jack I bought from Tractor Supply.

Here's a video about the Yellow Jacket version.

I recently picked up one of the "Daytona" 3-ton low-profile jacks from HFT, and it seems to do a decent job so far.

I think it's a good idea that you went with the 3-ton unit. I have a theory that the higher capacity jacks will have greater longevity, because there is less wear-and-tear on the internals when they just have to lift passenger cars and pick up trucks. I've had many of the 1.5 ton jacks fail and lose lifting power after just one or two years.
