Hercules Tires, a subsidiary of Cooper, has been making decent budget all terrain tires for quite a while. A brand new offering in their lineup is the Terra Trac AT X-Venture. A couple of the vehicles in my fleet were due for some new rubber, but didn't warrant the aggressive tread of the Cooper ST Maxx I have in stock for the rest of my off road rigs. The X-Venture tires hit the sweet spot of looks, price, warranty, and spending tax dollars on an American made product. This won't be a full review as I won't be driving the vehicles they will be installed on.

Photos don't quite do these justice, as they are quite a bit better looking in person than I was expecting. I wouldn't say they are quite aggressive enough to transend from an AT to the level of a hybrid design, but they are close. Following the playbook of other manufacturers, you get two choices of sidewall pattern, one style on the black wall side, and another on the white wall.

I'll keep this thread updated with how they hold up to the harsh desert terrain we deal with and pass along any comments from my staff that use them.

    Mounted on a 2019 F250.

Yesterday I rode shotgun with one of my guys who has these on his work truck. They seem to be pretty good off-road so far, but I am amazed at how quiet they are on the highway. Quite possibly the most hushed all terrain I've experienced.

    275/70/17 x-ventures installed today
First impression after about 40 miles…. I like them. They’re quiet, about the same as the KO2s they replaced. love the look of them. For an AT these are beefy.

Will they last 7 years and 95k miles like the KO2? Time will tell

I almost bought these for my Tacoma when I got the TRD lift. As a matter of fact I ordered them but the morning I went to get the lift on my truck the dealership had two in the showroom with the lift and the had Falken wildpeake AT3w on them. I called the tire shop and had them change my order because I couldn't see the Hercules and had the wildpeake right in front of me. My shop guy had actually recommended the Hercules over the Falken . I have no regrets getting the Falken but when I got back with my truck they had gotten some of the Hercules in, that is a great looking tire and has a nice warranty with it! I believe you will be pleased with that tire. They look great!

i loved the tread design and decided i would give them a try. after seeing the price of these vs the Ko2 i dont regret it.

i called a few months ago to price check them and they were $230 a tire and when i got them ordered this week they were $245 a tire...KO2s were $365, back in 2015 i got the KO2s for 189/per

Only thing I will critique is the side lugs. I wish the side lugs were a little more aggressive like the KO2, but that’s just aesthetics. I’ve had the KO2s for 7 years so I was used to seeing a more aggressive sidewall

Yes the price was good on those and the Ko2 are probably the most aggressive side lugs around,.hard to compare anything to those! I have known the guy at the tire shop several years and he always shoots me straight. They sale a lot of the Hercules and he said people are always well satisfied with their performance.,.that is why he recommended them to me. I want to say he told me they come with some kind of road hazard on them from the company. I could be wrong on that, Good looking tires, great mileage rating and priced right! I hope they do well for you. I am guessing those will become more popular as time goes on. I remember each side of the tire was different seems like one had raised letters and other did not. Either way great looking tires!

Yea I didn’t get the road hazard, I think you have to pay for it. Guy behind the counter asked if I wanted it but I just waived it. As for the difference between sides, it’s the side walls. You have two options, the OP has the opposite side of what I used.

In the original post, I put a close up showing the different sidewall lugs on both sides.

As for performance, these have been the longest lasting tires I've run on the F250. I don't have exact miles at the moment, but I'll be up at that office tomorrow and get photos and data of how extremely well they are holding up.

My understanding was Hercules provides the road hazard for two years or certain tread life with the purchase? I may be wrong but I thought that is what he told me and another positive about the tire. I would Google and check it out. Again I may be wrong but may come in handy if they do!

I know they give 60k mile guarantee, but after I had them installed the guy at the counter asked if I wanted the road hazard and I just said no thanks because I figured it was another fee

A little over 15k miles on an F250 that sees daily off road use.

It is, but that is also 15k miles of police use on a 3/4 ton truck, both on the highway and over some of the worst off-road terrain SoCal has to offer. I have turned BFG KO2's into confetti in less time out here.

Just to chime in on the Terra Trac AT2’s. I’ve been running them for years. Had 2 sets on my Tundra and I’m on my second set on my Tacoma. I like everything about them and especially the price. They are quiet for an AT, really quiet. In the rain great traction no hydroplaning. Snow, not snow tires but they do very well. Off road, dirt, gravel, rock excellent performance. Mud , they aren’t mudders but they clear mud well from the treads, never got stuck with them. 60,000 mile tires. I spend a lot of time fishing and hunting in the back country. These tires I depend on, they always get me in and back out again. My next tires on my truck will definitely be Terra Trac’s.

One of the main reasons I wanted these tires was because the tread design looks like it would clear out slightly muddy terrain very well. With my KO2s I almost got stuck in wet grass…. I can tell just by looking at these tires that the treads will not cake up as much.

Oh there will be some mods all right
Anybody else running these? @Maticuno Are they still holding up? I'm thinking they will probably be my next set of tires.
