Im looking for a small scope to mount on my new Henry. I don’t want a “traditional” type of scope. Something smaller like a peep. Any recommendations on one?

I threw a rail on mine and use a little Vortex 4x scope. Works perfect. But having a rail you can put all sorts of stuff on it.

Would you want to go red dot? Not quite sure what you mean by peep scope. I love my Holosun 507c mounted to my 357 Henry with a Phoenix Weaponry mount. They have footprints for many of the most popular small red dots.

Fast shooting with a red dot on a lever gun is alot of fun! I always make the joke that if cowboys had the option at the time they would've run it too.

Man, I like that. I may get one myself. I really like my little Vortex though, tack driver, but that looks the part doesn't it? I'm not shooting past 40 when I hunt anyway.

I pondered the skinner sight and after trying and ending up where I did I am glad I didn't. Not saying it isn't a great sight, just my eyes. I put a marble bullseye on my 30-30 to start with then put a Burris FF3 3MOA red dot. Better accuracy with the red dot with my old eyes. Especially in low light. Confident to 60 yards and kill zone to 100. It's a great gun to saddle hunt with and at typical bow ranges. Just a thought. Burris Marlin 336 FF3 base bolts right up to Henry receiver by the way.

I’m 59 and my eyes aren’t that great either. I’ll check that set up out.
