I'm posting this in hopes someone can give me guidance. I purchased a pair of led fog lamps which have a halo drl option. There is a separate power wire for the drl and i dont know where to run it or what to tap into. I would like the drl to come on during the day only while the truck is running. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

How handy are you with wiring?
The most convenient ignition source I see in the engine bay is the alternator IG feed wire (Light Green) (powered by the IG1 No2 fuse 10A hot in run & start), it goes through connector EB1 (Pin3) in the engine compartment fuse box.
Not sure how much current those lights take but I would run them to that wire through a 3 amp fuse (if they take more than 3 amps you will need to use a relay).
I would use a wire tap or solder and heat shrink, don't do the twist n tape.

If you would prefer to use a fuse tap you would have to go to the interior fuse box (WIP 30A, WSH 10A, or BKUP LP 10A would probably be the safest to tie into here)

Such good replies, I wish I was more competent at reading wiring diagrams though. It's like a foreign language to me. I will try to go to the interior fuse box with a fuse tap. The wires that came with aren't very long so not sure if that will work though. The lights didn't come with any instructions , go figure. Thanks so much!

Wires from the DRL part of the added lamps go to the relay pin 87.
Relay pin 30 & 86 connects to the add-a-fuse which in turn goes in the engine bay fuse/relay box to any circuit there where it can fit without problems when closing the cover to the box. This connection provides juice to the actuation coil of the relay (think switch) and fused power.
Relay pin 85 goes into the cab. This part could be a bit tasking, you need to identify the connector on the back of the cab relay/fuse/ecu box. This connector ahs only 3 wires going to it. You only need to tap into the green with red stripe. I recommend using a posi-tap type. This wire controls the DRL/TURN relay. When the low beams are selected the Body ECU cuts the ground signal to this wire turning OFF the DRL feature of the turn signals.
    Anything else, ask away...

Would you know if I could take out my LED/DRL fogs and use the H11 assembly and be able to utilize the OEM fog wiring? Thanks!
