So I removed the stock rims and replaced with ones I purchased from 4 Wheel Parts. Old rims were 17's, so replaced with 17's. Old stock rims had an offset of 30, new rims have an offset of 0.

Installed at a local shop, high speed balanced and fit with no issue.

Starting at about 40mph and getting increasingly worse as I reach 60mph is a really odd "wobble" that shakes the steering wheel. Feels like it's coming form the front end.

Took truck back to shop, he pulled the wheels and balanced them again, and checked to make sure weights were still on properly.

    Wobble is still there. WTF???

Nothing has been done to the suspension and everything was fine and "wobble" free until the new rims.

Oh yeah...tires are still the same. They are the Toyos that came with the truck (only 17k miles)

    Thanks for any help/input.

Pics are old rims and new rims.

I had the same thing happen to me, take it somewhere where they Road Force balance the tires. It went away immediately

    ^SJU350’s suggestion first^^^

Alignment? Also check to see if both of the front tires are truly “round”. I had this problem and the wobble would vary - it was affected by when both front tires were in “sync” with each other.

Another check to see if it’s any one of the front wheels is to do a front right to rear rotation and then drive it, and then do the same with a front left to rear rotation.

See if the wheels are hub centric or lug centric. If lug centric, you can get little rings that go around the hub to fill the gap.

Sounds like a balancing issue if you are getting the wobble at 30 mph + I would go back to the shop to get it looked at. I once had a wheel throw the stick on weights used for balancing immidietly after leaving the tire shop. Truck wobbled at speed. Went back and the tech cleaned the area and re installed new weights

So, curious how this turned out. I don’t have wobble due to unbalanced tires but the extra offset causes many irregularities in the road to cause the steering wheel to “wobble”. I’m currently running 17”x9” 0mm offset rims with 285/70r17 tires. When I had the same tires on 17”x9” +18 offset they were rock solid. However, those rubbed the UCA.

Curious what kind of luck folks are having with 17”x8” 0mm offset rims. It seems most folks just live with the instability caused by the wider stance, it’s driving me nuts.

This. I took off my aftermarket wheels and two of them were hub centric with spacers. When I put my stock ones on I forgot about the spacers. Had everything torqued down and couldn't get the wobble gone. Did a face slap when I realized my mistake.

Triple check you don't need spacers with those rims so they sit proper on the hub.
