Hoping someone can give me a bit of advice. My mom’s car sits a few blocks from a metal foundry that has left her car paint in horrible condition. If I lived closer to her, this would have been prevented. I’ve tried iron remover products with no luck. The only thing that will remove it is a clay bar and it takes a ton of time…but it does completely remove it. If that’s what has to happen, so be it, but wanted to see if any of you have a better suggestion. This stuff is super rough to the touch and not just a film. Any advice is much appreciated.

As you said...clay bar. It's the only thing I know that will work on that, but I'm not a professional detailer. I use Meguier's Quik Detailer Spray and their clays with good results. Good luck!

Being too close to the foundry messes up the paint? Is there stuff in the air?

    In for ideas…

We might, but if someone had a trick, I’d try it first.

The place has ruined several cars in the area and have been fined many times for their emissions. The fines are cheaper than fixing the foundry.

that's ridiculous. Sounds like they need some bigger fines

Agreed and just imagine what the surrounding air quality is like!
