    Hey all,

I'm new to the Tacoma world and Tacomas in general, just bought my first one last week. It came with a Leer truck cap and I'd like to sell it here locally on Facebook or whatever because I don't like the look of it. I'm trying to figure out how to price this thing because everything on Craigslist and eBay have prices ranging all over the place since these are pretty customizable pieces. I seen ones that are similar to mine run about $1600 to $2,000 used. is that a fair price to try and sell this for? If I've found the right one, I think this one is about $3,000 brand new. Here's the details:

    •Leer 100XR for 2016 tacoma short bed
    • rear removable sliding window (cab entrance side)
    • sliding windows on both sides with screen
    •Gray Carpet insulated
•normal hardware to screw/bolt it down
    •Dome Light
    •Wiring
    •lock and key
    •coat hanger installed on ceiling
•Mint condition no scratches or anything. Pictures attached. Appreciate any help!
    Thanks,

I say start at $2,000 you can always come down if it doesn’t get gone in a timely manner

I paid $600 for a used Leer 100xl for my 07 6 ft bed quite a while ago

$1100 for a used Leer 100xl for my 11 6 ft bed, this had the carpet interior like yours, also a while back

$2300 for my new Leer 100xl for my current truck with carpet, slider window, etc.

Shoot somewhere in the middle of all that would be my advice

I looked for a used one for a couple months. For Gen 3's they seem to sell for around 1300-1500 with no Yakima/Thule racks on top. With racks, many seem to try and they disappear around 1700-1900 (assuming that is what they sold for) . I've tried to get several for a $1K recently while looking, but they were gone faaaast. I then found a Z-series ARE with matching color, Yakima rails/crossbars, carpet, tilt/sliding front window for $1300. IMO $1500 is a fair price. If I'm getting near 75% price of new, I'll go get new. But that's just me.

Where are you located Rudy? I live a few miles from the Leer Manufacturing plant in PA.
I would agree with the ~$1300 to $1500 range.

Welcome to TW. Without factory installed Yakima tracks, you're looking at approx. 2600-2700 brand new. I know because I've been shopping for weeks. I'd easily pay 1600-1800 & my truck isn't even black. That leaves room for your buyer to get it painted if needed.

You happen to know where I can find a list of trucks that this specific one will fit? LEER website is useless for that. Or do people typically know what model and size will fit their truck?
    Thanks!

My bad, I meant other than Tacomas. Like, will this topper fit a gmc ,Chevy, Ford, or anything else with the same bed size?

Yes. But only in a few backwoods parts of VA or KY, and the FL panhandle.

Yep, fits right on an el Camino and still has space for a window a/c.

Seriously though, you should be able to find a buyer quite easy.

I will posting mine for sale soon. I have a 2018 Snugtop of a 3rd gen Long bed Tacoma. I am including the bed/camping set up I made for it. Listing it for around the $2400. I don't think you are far off with your pricing.
