I have a set of 3000k Diode Dynamics Elite Series Fog Lights on order. They are backordered right now. I've been going back and forth between the white and the yellow. I think the white may look better/match my setup better. But I know the yellow would perform better in rain/fog/snow.

I'm running Diode Dyanmic HP24 switchback LED signals that match my halos. They are white and switch to amber on the signals.

Depends on the climate where you live. If your climate is fog, rain, or snow often - get yellow. Living in western PA, changing my fogs to yellow was the best modification I've made.

This may be the only time that snow and yellow go together…
    Get the yellow ones.

    Yellow.

Too many use the fog position for a looks statement and miss out on functional value.

Water, which those all are, reflects light back at you, especially white light. It's why you don't use high beams in those conditions either.

The yellow reflects less and the fog position tends to illuminate better.

It's why vehicles are built to only allow the fogs on when low beams are on.

    Great article here.

Short 'n curlys of it (selective yellow) is that the French figured out that removing the small amount of blue light that an incandescent bulb produces (about 5% total each blue-indigo-violet wavelengths) is not a large enough drop in intensity to reduce your perception of the available light (we see light intensity logarithmically, basically it takes ~40% change in intensity to be easily noticed, which means 4x the amount of light intensity to appear "2x as bright"). But by removing the blue light we reduce the downregulation of the red and green receptors in our eyes, meaning they are more sensitive to the available light. And yellow light allows enough color distinction between shades of brown/black/grey/green to still be able to see clearly. Additionally, blue light of a given intensity is found to be more glaring than other spectrums.

I'd argue that the French were right to require selective yellow as the headlamp color, and the rest of the world should have followed suit, but the EU killed that off by forcing France to adopt the ECE regs for headlamps. I've driven behind selective yellow bulbs/bulb filters/tinted lenses on my past vehicles for years (and had a bunch of tickets for my efforts) and it is much easier on the eyes for extended driving in basically any night time driving condition on or offroad.

If you want something that looks pretty and doesn’t work well for the actual purpose, then just get some cheap lights and don’t plug them in.

    Selective yellow

Wow, 19 votes for yellow and 0 for white so far. I ordered the yellow two weeks ago. They're expecting to have them back in stock in about 1 more week. I'm going to stick with my decision. I've never had yellow fogs before, going to be interesting to see what sort of difference they make.
