Thanks, but it doesn't show the retainer as being included. Looks like you have to buy it separately because Amazon shows it as the two parts being frequently bought together.

These item from fleabay are cheap and have the same part numbers, first one is the sensor and the second is the retainer:

the retainer is literally on the sensor. it is the round plastic piece that surrounds the lil "button" in the middle. I bought that exact thing when I broke mine. but it was $20 then. looks like they came down some.

the second item you keep posting WILL NOT work on the Tacoma. that is a retainer for other Toyotas but not the Taco. I bought several of those from my local dealer to try to make work but they wouldn't.

I thought the retainer was this sensor retainer item right here, but I guess this one doesn't work on the Tacoma?:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Parking-Sensor-Retainer-PDC-For-Toyota-Tundra-07-13-08-89348-71010-89348-34020/264167687149?fits=Model:Tundra&hash=item3d819f03ed:g:BhcAAOSw-elcTvH0

Also, the Amazon link you sent shows the retainer as a separate item from the sensor. I'm confused

I broke the sensor and the round plastic piece that goes around it. The round plastic piece that surrounds the sensor on the bumper doesn't appear to be included with that amazon sensor you posted.

I have not had a single issue since. I installed it.

What @JimmySport said. The sensor is all you need since the retainer comes with it. The other retainer you showed doesn't work with our tacos or sensor. However I would buy two sensors just in case you break one retainer. The plastic is insanely thin and I broke it in many places, however it has held it in place.

^^^that is exactly what you need. Like remgu said, get 2 because the plastic retainer is literally paper thin. If you look at it wrong it will snap.

Anyone have a good method of removing them without breaking them? I'll be needing to do this in the near future.

So the round bezel in the bumper isn't a separate part?

How do you install that through the bumper as one piece? Thanks

you have to take the retainer off the sensor, install the sensor from under the bumper. then snap the retainer to the sensor from the outside. watch a couple videos, they are on here and youtube I believe. be careful, it is easy as hell to snap the retainers. they are very thin and fragile. I would buy a couple of those sensors/retainers just in case.

What do you think about that one I posted a link to on Fleabay? Thinking of buying a couple of those for about 11 bucks each.

Happen to have a link to a good how to video for this operation? Thanks

it looks right. I know the Amazon one works, but the eBay one might too. I just can't say for sure.

unfortunately I can't link a video for you because I don't remember where I found it. search youtube for 3rd Gen Tacoma rear bumper alignment or something to that affect. it will show you how remove the sensors and all the trim. trust me, its a pain in the ass, but as long as you're careful it will work out.

I just ordered the one from Fleabay so I'll see how it works out. Sounds like it's going to be a nightmare to deal with. I'll see if I can get a buddy with more skills and patience than me to help me out.

Keep me posted. I’ve used them before in a steel bumper but the sensitivity was half of the oem stuff. Not sure if it was the steel bumper or the knockoff sensors.

Anyone know if there’s a certain angle the parking sensors have to be reinstalled?

    Thanks @Casper66 !
