My red Tacoma off-road is soon to be delivered and I’ve been thinking about rim options. I’m not crazy about the factory off-road rims and would like to see what some of y’all are running on your own off-road. Now here’s the problem, I hate black rims and it seems the fashion for the last 5 years has been everyone riding black rims. So all you tacoheads who run non-black rims, show me what you got.

p.s. hooptie style won’t fly on my dirt road.

I hate when people call wheels "rims".

It's the equivalent of the clip/magazine gripe... if you know what they're talking about, is it really that big of a deal?

Personally, I dislike the "Taco" nickname... but I try to keep it in perspective.

It's the ignorance of it, regardless if I understand what they mean or not. Words have literal meanings. I'm uninterested in user-defined meanings.

American English is built on colloquialisms... I just chalk it up to the status quo.

So what do you call both the tire and rim combined as a whole? To me it always been a rim and tire, but combined they make a "wheel" :notsure:

I wish I could find this one taco member who posted pics of his black taco with black hubcap "vintage" style wheels. They looked so futuristic/retro. Those would look good in any color tbh

This is true. Bicycles have rims. Trucks/cars have wheels.

Gripes my ass when people call tires, "shoes" also.

A tire is a tire. A wheel is a wheel. Together they are called a tire and a wheel. No made up words. I just call them what they are.

    Go Chrome or go home.

    Just kidding.

I love black wheels and wish less people had them. Unfortunately with a Cement Tacoma nothing else looks besides black. With any other color truck I would have gone with a gunmetal, titanium, or maybe bronze but probably not since that's the new cool thing.

I too hate black rims, my shoes are already black, I dont need a black mag rim in there too. :)
All joking aside with naming of things

Many aftermarket wheels come in silver or machined, but black is the majority of whats out there.
