help finding plastic cover on side mirror

Let my sister borrow my truck and she knocked the plastic piece of my driver side mirror and ran it over. From what I see I can only buy the whole mirror and they don't sell just that piece. Anyone know if it's possible to just buy that plastic piece?

 

May be a used one from wrecking yard or Ebay.

 

Just went through this. The lower cover (the one you need) is part of the mirror. The upper cover (the one you don't need..lol) is available separate.

 

Yup, dealership told me that and i was like, of course they don't sell the thing I need

From what she tells me, she loaded the bed up in her garage with trash to take to the dump. When she reversed to drive out she hit the mirror on the side of the garage. And I guess ran the plastic thingy over in the process. She tells me "that's why I never go in reverse" or something like that.

We've already agreed that she's paying for it so I'm either just gonna get a new mirror which would be fastest or order from the link that 2010HDfatboy sent. I'm leaning towards the new mirror because I can get it shipped to the dealer in a day or 2

Don't be too rough on her. If she's anything like my sister, she probably nearly had a heart-attack/nervous breakdown and had tears in her eyes.

Be a Hero: get the $45 aftermarket piece from Etsy. New mirror is $300+. No one will ever know and you'll have a new best friend forever.

 

I'm not too mad. I'm mostly upset with toyota not selling this piece of plastic that seems prone to pop off. I just ordered what I need and she's gonna pay me back next week. She's definitely not borrowing it again though

 

I knocked mine off learning to backup my MASSIVE truck into my apartment-size 1-car garage ... had a Corolla before the Tacoma. Mine was usable even with some tabs broken, but to re-attach I used the self-adhering wrap you buy in auto parts stores because wind noise sucks using adhesive tape.

Be nice to her ... she does not understand the deep emotional connection you have with a non-living collection of metal body panels and wheels/tires.
