I'm having trouble choosing one of these front bumpers. Anyone care to weigh-in? My goals are to improve my clearance/approach over the stock bumper, and to improve the look. Also, if there's a better option for a similar bumper, please let me know. Screen Shot 2019-08-25 at 11.10.42 AM.jpg Screen Shot 2019-08-25 at 11.24.08 AM.jpg
I love the look. I like the shackle mounts better than the Addicted bumper (see below). It does have little mini stingers on the bumper ends though, minor gripe, not a deal-breaker. Factory skid plate would not be compatible, so I'd need to buy the All-Pro version for $159, annoying. $825 shipped for the stinger version pictured, would still need powder coating. Completely bolt-on, easy peasy. No estimated wait time mentioned.

Looks great, other than the shackle mounts (again, minor gripe). $812 shipped as pictured with included LED signals, would still need powder coating. Love that it's actually cheaper while also including integrated LED signals. 6-8 weeks wait time, not bad. Not stoked that the install process involves some quick welding since I have no torch/skills. I can probably get a friend to do it though.
"The bumper comes with a weld-in crossmember that needs to be welded on. Simply slide it over frame rails and weld it in place. Any muffler or offroad shop can do this for you if you cannot weld or do not have access to a welder. Some 01-04 Tacomas will require a subtle 2" frame extension(included with order) for mounting due to the frame being shorter on these models"

    Stuff. Also things.
I vote for the Addicted bumper, but I’m obviously biased :D

I know the trail gear is pretty standard, but I like the approach angle and the look.

I dig it too, but wish it had a light guard/bar. It is almost $200 cheaper though. Hmmm

I like my allpro. If you go that route, be aware that the skid mounting points are different than most so you either have to buy them from AP or make your own. The addicted bumper is very good looking as well. Don't think you can go wrong.

Yeah the skid plate incompatibility is a turnoff for sure. More expensive too

Coastal Offroad has got a great high clearance front bumper if you are willing to weld it or find a welder for it. They should be having a labor day sale coming up this next weekend and I got an extra discount code for ya too - "1GOVRLD". They start at $461

    That's mighty kind of you!

I think I might be pretty set on the Trail Gear option though. Here's what it looks like on an '02 like mine, not bad at all, and TG makes a light guard for $50 that i can get weld on if it ever becomes that necessary..

Dang. Those Coastal Offroad bumpers are sick though! Pricing is right too. But the DIY aspect is holding me back. I don't want to have to find/pay someone to weld it all up. With a 10% off coupon I can get the TG low profile front bumper for $650 out the door (4WP). Local powder coater will do it for $100.

The rear is another story though. I really don't like the TG rear option. I really DO like the Relentless rear bumper, but even without any extras it would be $1329 or so (shipped), then another $100 for powder coating. Might need to save up some dough for that. I mean it's a sexy bumper and all, but that's 2x what I'm paying for the front.

I agree about the trail gear rear. I'm going to do something like this so it matches the front.

Allpro or TG, can’t go wrong with either one. Both are the same company. Not sure if they have their warehouse up north but they have one in Fresno that you can pickup, most of the time their in stock. Also PM me if you want to go that route. I have someone that can beat 4WP pricing.

It looks better if you do. Also paint it black before you install. I kinda regret not painting mine.
Also the trail gear/ alpro rear bumper looks way better in person. And for a aesthetic perspective I wouldn't match a tube front and plate rear. But to each there own.

Just an FYI, Relentless doesn’t make the standard rear bumpers for 1st gen anymore - only the wraparounds. Think mine was the last one they made >.>

Yeah I noticed that. I wonder why.

Although I would probably go with the wraparound anyhow. They look identical from the rear, no?

Not enough sales to justify making them. And yes, same thing except for the side bolsters.
