i've researched through the forums and could not find similar situation/problem hence i am starting a new thread. the original factory radio/cd player has stopped working just a few days ago. radio receives no power whatsoever. i checked all the fuses as a lot of folks say the dome light and the ACC or cig port fuse has something to do with powering the radio. all those fuses are fine. as a matter a fact everything in the truck works. dome light turns on, two accessory port under the cig port all has power. any idea what i can do or is the radio just dead? another question is does the factory radio have a build in Fuse port? i took the radio out and no fuse was exposed (maybe i have to open it up to see if there is a internal fuse that i can replace?).

    any suggestion is appreciated!

Do you have access to another radio? Any factory Toyota radio from the same era should plug right into your harness from the dash, just to make sure your problem isn't coming from the truck.

You say that the radio receives no power whatsoever. Is it just not turning on, or did you confirm that the power lead at the harness that plugs into the radio doesn't have 12v+ when the key is in the accessory or run position? Use a test light to confirm. If you do indeed have power at the harness, your radio is dead.

As Ron said, you say it gets no power, but are you just assuming that because it doesn’t turn on? Or did you put a voltmeter to it?

Most likely the radio is dead if everything else works and the fuses are good. Your truck is almost old enough to vote...
