Last night on the freeway my 2016 Toyota Tacoma (110k miles) began to feel as if it was slipping out of gear. Randomly jumped in RPMS and didn't have any power. It also started to shift pretty erratically in lower gears for a little bit. It started to shift normally after about 10 minutes. The check engine light came on as well as the "trac off" light.

I scanned it with an OBDII scanner and it gave me P0717 which says it is in issue with the input shaft speed sensor.

I'd like to check it with my multimeter. I read to check for voltage coming from the tcm, then check the resistance on the speed sensor itself. Not sure what values the resistance should be on the speed sensor... Also, I'm not sure exactly where to find this part. From what I researched, it looks like it should be somewhere toward the input side of the transmission. Can someone point me in the right direction? Also, where do I source the part?

    Thanks

Do you have an extended warranty? Could possibly be the crankshaft position sensor, was causing engines to shut off.
