Is there any issue with replacing the 100 watt lightbulb in the 4000's with a comparable H1 LED? I have 2 eurobeams and one pencil beam.

    What would be the drawbacks?

    Thanks!

HID's, LED Dash swap, LED reverse lights, 15"x10" 5 slot mags, sliding rear window, 20gal aux. DS fuel tank,
Most likely, any H1 LED you would replace the 100 watt bulb with wouldn't be nearly as effective.

Comparatively, LED's do not throw light very far without a large amount of focusing optics. You may have a light that looks nice down range of your truck, but may provide absolutely nothing to help you actually see in the dark.

Interesting, I would have thought that the reflector would work the same regardless of the light source.

I admit I know very little about this, hence the question.

The reflector isn't the issue... It's more about the light emitting source.

I don't know the specifics, but halogen and hid throw much further than any current LEDs. It's mainly due to the difference in the properties of the light source. LEDs are great for interior, accent, and amazing at flood lighting.

Link the style bulb that you were thinking of and we would definitely be able to see if it's able to work or not.

That makes sense, that's why many upgrade their stock fog's to LED's...they are more of a flood.

I didn't have a specific bulb picked out... I wanted to ask first. But just to continue learning, how about these H1 LED headlight retrofit's. They are a little bluer that I think I would like, but other than that what are your thoughts?
