Hey! I am looking for some headlight recommendations. I am looking to run Hella Xtreme Yellow fog lights, and I'm getting confused. I keep finding that the 2009 trucks have a 9145 lights, with a T-4 socket. I found a table that says 9005's are equivalent bulbs. However, Hella's 9005 are running 65 watts, whereas every other bulb I can find is 45 watts.

Additionally, the 9005's don't have a glare cap, which seems to defeat the purpose of running them as fog lights.

Can anyone recommend the best yellow fog light that I can just plug and play? I'm not looking to run a custom wiring harness (maybe sometime in the future).

    Thank's for your help!

Your 09 uses the 9145/H10 bulb in the fogs, which is a fog bulb. 9005s have the same base and can fit, but as you point out they don’t have glare caps and will cause glare. 9005s are a high beam headlight bulb.

The 9145/H10 is pretty low performing, best option for improvement would be to swap to an SAE selective yellow LED fog assembly, like the Diode Dynamics SS3s. Note to go to LED you want to change the whole assembly to one designed for LEDs.

Damn, at this point I'm not really looking to drop $200 on a whole new assembly (maybe in the future).

I guess the sylvania fogvision it is!
