Got a sweet deal on fb market for a LT kit and I was wondering, besides the added adjustability with heims was there any advantages between the two? I was told that polyurethane are more durable however plastic vs metal, in my head I'm thinking that metal is more durable idk.

Was hoping you guys could give me some info and pointers.

Poly is more durable than RUBBER. Heims are King.

Poly will be softer and less nvh they will also squeak less and last longer. Heims are more rigid so even during hard bumps the wheel geometry will stay perfect, that could be good or bad depending on what your doing. Also usually heims are adjustable and will move more and easier.

My plan for the truck is going fast in the desert so like small jumps and eating whoops for breakfast.

Also thanks for the reply, i appreciate it. I hope the fact that heims are adjustable wont be an issue compared to solid 1 piece UCAs.

They're just another way to adjust caster and camber, think the lower control arm cam bolts but on the upper control arm.

A plan that is going to take years to achieve and cost tens of thousands even assuming you do your own work.

yup thats the plan, already got the LT parts, both front and rear. I live in socal so I’m lucky to have a huge array of very knowledgeable and experienced welders and desert racing fabrication shops to do the work needed to make the rig both viable and safe.

As far as what I can do, I’m able to do regular bolt on installs. I plan to learn how to weld and fab for small projects, but leave the major welds like cagging the car and suspension welds to the pros.
