Heavy Duty Tailgate Cap - ?

Hey guys,

Last camping trip I had a high clearance trailer hitch on the back of my truck and one of my buddies carelessly dropped my tailgate onto it - now I have a nice little dent right above the tailgate handle.

I'm looking for a tailgate cap - preferably steel/aluminum - that extends down over the top of the tailgate a bit, to both hide the dent and to help prevent more damage.

Another vote here for kbvoodoo. The top comes down just enough to keep my camper shell window from rubbing the paint off the tailgate

IIRC I think the mobtown one sits flush with the edge of the top of the tailgate. I personally like this look more, but went with the other one for the added protection. A nice option nonetheless

The last time. I looked at the ones Mobtown makes they don’t go down towards the tailgate handle.

 

I have the mobtown and it doesnt wrap around towards the handle. My brother has the kbvoodoo one and it does. his also seems more sturdy and the powder coat is much better

I have mobtown end cap and tail gate skin. Just had both line xed.

 

Thanks guys. Checked out all of the mentioned (KBVoodoo, Mobtown, Relentless Fab) but none of them extend down as far as I'd like.

Prepare for the extra weight... it may catch you by surprise....

 

The Tacoma tailgate has a curve to it which is why there are only a few places that make them.

If you want protection further down, you could have bedliner applied to give more coverage.
