HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR Special Flare Nut Socket

Anyone know more or less what the exact size (8, 10, 14mm etc.) of the special flare nut socket used for oxygen sensors removal and installation on a 2008 & 2012 Tacoma?

I've searched here on the forum but come up with nothing.

I've also searched the the Service Manual 2005+ for Tacoma's and on pages EC-19 & 20 (respectively) HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (a) Using SST, install the 2 heated oxygen sensors onto the exhaust pipe. SST 09224-00010, and it does not show the exact size tool used. It's not specific.

Anyway if anyone has any info about this please either post about it here or send me a PM with the info.

7/8" or 22mm

 

22mm. Lots of kits have different styles or "special sockets" if you are replacing the o2 just cut the wires and slip a 22mm wrench over the top and bust it loose.

never quite understood why people go crazy for the need for some fancy oxygen sensor tool.

An open end box wrench will work just fine.

 

Sometimes on the ones that are super stuck on there you need a special socket. Or if you are reusing it.

 

Knipex parallel pliers as well. Mmmmm
