Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I don't believe that this was an option for Tacomas.
Our '23 Venza has it. You do realize that a 'heads up' display would require a new dashboard, as the image seen on the windshield is reflected from a display buried in the dash.

There is at least one aftermarket option available, so no, you don't need a new dashboard.
I tried out the one from the vendor with a four letter name. I didn't care for the positioning of the display in the windshield, so I'm working on an enclosure to put it more in the center. I don't think it's a very useful mod unless you just like to tinker.

I had this on my Corvette and it came in handy when booking down the highway at ludicrous speed! But I just can't see how all the work and money would be worth it for a brick shaped pickup truck that starts to disintegrate at 90 mph.

I did like that I could leave another page on the gauges rather than speed and just use the HUD for the speedometer. But again, the location on the windshield is wrong. If it was centered and didn't require that reflective film, I would have kept it installed.

I don't feel the need for telemetry data (maybe temps if I towed)

I have this one too. It's not bad at all (2019 MY). I'd buy it again. Here are the pros:
    • The 2018+ units are hardwired in, compared to the early year trucks that connect to the OBD port (verify),
    • The "door ajar" notifications are great,
    • The tire pressure monitor alerted me of a leak before the OEM Guage cluster did,
    • I like that I can turn off all the LEDs at night if they're too bright,
    • It DOES have a digital temperature selection, which, per the manual, is the Water temperature readout,
    • The rev limiter tells me when I'm throttling in excess,
    • I'm pretty sure there's an ice warning ⚠️ for Temps below freezing.
    The cons are:
    • I noticed a slight buzz at first, but not noticeable anymore,
    • The speaker is slightly lower volume,
    • The hardwire cable needs to be removed when you flash the truck (OVTune does not work if it is plugged in),
    • The reflective windshield tape is too big, and should be trimmed before installing (minor issue).

If it's not projecting relevant data in your line of sight, what is the point?

I saw this thread and was kind of interested, and I did a search of the product and found that the vendor ktjo4x4 is banned from the forum for various reasons. So buyer beware.

The HUD on my 09 Corvette was pretty simple. It had a "street mode" that just had speed and RPM's and "track mode" that added coolant temperature and oil pressure.

Right. And that information is projected directly into your line of sight where it's supposed to be.

It's nice that I can check my coolant temp in the left corner of my windshield while I'm towing a travel trailer. :notsure:

Not gonna lie. I have many products from KTJO , and had them for years. Nobody else makes them. Some of my favorite mods. All of them add another level of convenience. Cool factor as well. IMO, these should be factory:
    • Door handle bowl lights,
    • Driver side grab handle,
    • Folding Mirrors,
    • One touch rear window switch,
    • One touch passenger window switches,
    • Heads up display
I understand she was banned trying to sell custom Tacoma products here in this niche market. Fortunately, I wasn't caught up in that fiasco. I waited until the products were complete and vetted. No pre-orders here.

Tacomaworld helped get her foot in the door. No doubt, she's probably grateful to this forum. It's not often that you get a chance to quit your day job and work on your hobby. Yes, some people were upset because of delays and problems with prototypes. It was probably a blessing in disguise that she was banned, so she could focus on bringing the products to the mainstream. :boink:

Anyway, all these products that I have are performing as designed. Again, nobody else makes them! They're definitely practical and cool. I'd buy again. YMMV. My $.02 :hattip:
