Stock 2nd gen halogen housing. The new Morimoto XB LED headlights look awesome but I can't possibly justify the price. Crashnburn80's ultimate headlight upgrade is more work than I would care to put in right now. So that leaves me trying to decide between the Philips RacingVision GT200 or the Osram Night Breaker 200 bulbs. Which would you choose or is there a better option for a stock wattage H4 bulb?

All the info is in that thread, including stock wattage performance bulbs.

Osram Night Breaker +200 post #4066 vs Philips Racing Vision +200 post #3169.

The Philips bulbs are whiter and higher output.

The Morimoto assemblies have an excellent high beam, but the Philips Racing Visions will get you pretty close to the low beam performance, while saving you $800+.

You can also boost your halogen performance further with a simple voltage booster, but increasing the voltage requires an AGM battery. Details covered here.

Just do the ultimate headlight mod and be done with it. Well worth it. Having said that the osram night breakers on a stock headlight harness are the best bulbs you can run.

Just wanted to say thank you to @crashnburn80. I finally got around to installing the Philips RacingVision GT200 bulbs today and got the aim dialed in tonight. Definitely a huge improvement and combined with the Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport fog light (also purchased mostly based on your advice) night time driving is much easier now on my aging eyes. Thank you for all the detailed testing and write ups that you have provided. It is very much appreciated.

    Yellow is best for fogs

It depends on what you're looking for. From a pure technical standpoint, the clear lens versions actually put out a bit more light. But, in inclement weather, the selective yellow tends to cut through better providing more usable light. If you're looking for more light in front of your vehicle in good weather, the clear lens is the way to go. In any case, proper aim is critical.

Selective yellow. We get a lot of rain, snow and fog here in the winter. But it sounds like you just want a driving lamp so white would probably be better in that beam pattern.

That's what I'm thinking, something to supplement my low beams. Maybe the sport beam if I'm reading the web site right.

More work? This is entirely plug and play. The hardest part is swapping the bulb which you are going to be doing anyway. That and a couple of zip ties....

Tom, u think I'm better off with the fog pattern rather than the sport pattern ?

Sport is not a pattern. It's a model. The three models are (in order of power levels) Sport, Pro and Max. The only street legal and oncoming driver friendly pattern is Fog. It's a tight (height wise), wide, relatively short distance beam pattern. If you want to run them with other cars coming your way, you want the Fog pattern. If you want more distance, go with a Driving pattern, but you'll have to shut them off any time anybody's coming at you.

Bulbs that burn out more frequently along with a wire harness that I can't get as easily as you guys can in the US. For that matter, the bulbs are harder to find up here too.
