I have a 1996 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 that I just got Headlight Filllers/Bumper Fillers (Not sure the exact name, the small part under the headlight and above the bumper) for and I am trying to find the clips to put them on. I've looked it up and people are saying these work #52521-35010 but I was also told this was on a 1999 model truck. Are these the clips I need? I know I need 8 of them (4 on each side). Also how do these clips work? Do I just pop them on the filler and line it up under the headlight or vice versa and put the filler on the clip already on the truck?

Your '96 must be quite different from my '02. My headlight fillers are not held on by clips.

My 04 headlight fillers are held in by clips. But I need a new clip on the driver's side. Instead I just installed a screw up though where the clip mounts into the housing and it holds it all up in there fine. Crappy picture. But the clip is right behind the head of that screw. Let me get a picture worth a damn!

I called up the Toyota dealership near me just prior to replacing my headlights because I saw a lot of people on Youtube breaking them. They had one in stock and could order another if needed. I ended up not breaking either clip during my job, but they are a part that can be bought. Price was $2.16 each. Sorry, didn't write a part number down when doing my research, but I have a 1999 Tacoma. Just so happens I have the pieces in front of me. The retainer slides onto the trim piece and then snaps into a rectangular hole in the headlight assembly. The other side of the trim is bolted with a 10mm hex head screw behind the front grille.

@Kiloyard Those look exactly like the clips I was told to use and that’s roughly the price I’ve found them for. Thank you for the pictures, my piece seems slightly different then yours but I believe the clips will still work. The way mine is designed for it to sit right I would need 8 of them. I still can’t beleive I am going to be paying more for clips than I did both of the filler! Haha

Starting to think those clips won’t work, anyone know of different ones or way to rig them? Here’s a picture of how the are.

This clip is for a 98-00 filler

    These are 95.5-97 fillers

Just epoxy those fawkers in place. The clips for 95.5-97 are completely useless.

@Madjik_Man Ahhh well as soon as I get new fenders I’ll just epoxy them in with something!

Appreciate you posting this. My drivers side filler is loose and I’m trying to figure out how it’s held in place.
    Please keep us updated!

They're crazy easy to break so thats probably it. They are held on by a bolt towards the inside, once you get the grill off, which also has some very brittle clips of its own, but those are an easy find

Yeah, I've currently got the front end off my truck because I'm repainting the lower valance and replacing the bumper cushions, etc. While I'm here, I'm hoping to get the filler being lose resolved.

Yeah. I have tried to zip tie them in place and they hold for a year or two til the tie gets brittle

I cant believe how much the bloody thing cost! And how impossible they are to find. I found the ones that hold the grill on really cheap.

I bought the filler pieces from Amazon, and they seem to fit, but now I need the clips. There is one bolt on one side, but then the other side sticks out because nothing is holding it in. I looked up part number: #52521-35010 mentioned above but the dealer website says that it doesn't fit a 1998 Tacoma.

Does anyone have a part number or name of this clip? I've searching for "bumper filler retainer clip" but that's leading me to a lot of other types of clips or ones for different model years.

I may just go the zip tie route since at least I'll have a bolt on one side. If the zip tie breaks, then it'll just be sticking out again and I can re-zip tie it.

All the part numbers i looked up werent the right parts. I went to the dealership and they had one for almost 16 bucks. The part you have looks the same as what i had and a '98 is still first generation so it will probably work
