So finally after 7.5 weeks I have my baby back from the body shop but when i get home and walk in front of the truck i notice the passenger headlight assembly is foggy and hazy AF with condensation! Was not the case prior to the shop repairing! My fender bender was on the other side and they replaced my aftermarket driver headlamp assembly from Amazon apparently. What can I do? Call tomorrow and complain and ask that they fix ? Looks like they had to probably buy the pair of them if bought on amazon right ? Is there a way to just buy like the passenger light ? I’m thinking it is Spyder brand
Was gifted about 5 yrs ago. pics below. Thanks guys Btw it was end of the day right before closing and I was rushing to turn in rental car at same time I was about to leave bc I know some jackasses are gonna say something about “why didn’t u check everything thoroughly “

That is a very known problem with practically all aftermarket headlights. However, it wouldn’t hurt to contact the body shop and see what they would do. When I bought mine I bought some black silicone and went around the entire seam of both headlights and haven’t had any water problems

Yea I would definitely follow up with the body shop. The rubber seal can go at any time with these things so it could just be bad timing if they didn’t replace it. If they did replace that one then you could probably get a replacement from spider or whoever they got it from. Best of luck!

Spyder is known to be a very low quality brand and leaking is a common problem. Upgrade to OEM for better performance and quality.

Are you going to be testing those new Alpharex 05-11 LED headlights?

Not high on my priority list, AlphaRex looks pretty bad. Hugely excessive amounts of foreground light and lack of distance light, from everything I’ve seen, which is the exact opposite of how a headlight is supposed to work. They look very armature and not up to par with Morimoto.

Here is a quote about them from an industry professional:
“...it looks like yet another brand of the same square-wheel trinkets, junk, and garbage. I don't have photometric reports or durability test reports, of course, but their website is practically _bleeding_ clues that this is not a legitimate operation and those are not legitimate products.”

UPDATE: had a little time this morning so stopped by the body shop. The manager told me they actually sent the passenger side light first from Amazon then they had to send out the driver side (which was damaged). Long story short: UPS hasn’t picked up the light yet so he’s gonna give it to me for free. Just had to charge me a tech fee for install (maybe $50 or so). In the end I’ll have a new set so I’m happy. Will get done next week.
