    Looking for some seat covers to keep interior clean(er) while dusty occupants get in and out in a desert environment. Plan to be off-road for about a week.

    Any suggestions from you guys’ experience?

    I thought of the carharts, they look simple to install, but they seem pricy for getting them dirty /roughed-up and for only occasional use…

    Rough country are less expensive, but may be more time consuming to install (?).

    I appreciate the insight and suggestions!
    :thumbsup:

    I bought a cheapy set of body glove brand seat covers for that kind of thing. There are neoprene like a diving suit. My seats are the leather style though. My friend has the rough country covers in his Tacoma and they’re pretty good.

    i have had the Coverking ballistic canvas on for over 5 years now. Only one spot is starting to fray from constant rub and wear. Love ‘em

    How much is your time worth and how much are your seats worth? Therefor I bought Carhartt, but other than to clean them, they’re left on. If you didn’t end up reusing them, they sell extremely quick here used.

    The silt and dust in Baja can never be mitigated. Accept your fate and have a good time! I’ll be back down July 1 for eight daze.

    @soundman98 @Chew are you able to reach the under seat storage with these or carhartts?

    I do see your point! I still have red soil from my Australian adventures on many bits of gear!

    yes, the seat bottom is separate from the seat upper, so the seats remain fully functional.

    @Mas Olas
    It was a Quick 1 week trip to Rancho Meling up in the San Pedro Martir Sierra (including a day for a climb up to the observatory...) and then San Quintin for a bit of a taste of the of the coast. Stopped in Ensenada for a night heading there and on the return to brak the trip-up a bit. A few other families and my folks joined so it was lots of fun for the kids...

    Great scenery and great food. (once past TJ!!) Would have liked to head further South but we were time constrained. (Also would plan to do that during the spring / fall - rather than summer.

    The border was an utter nightmare. What a mess. It had been quite a while since my last time - but it seems that it is worse than ever.

    Where do you usually hang out?

    Grew up surfing the coast and graduated to the Seven Sisters and further south 25 years ago. Now the crowds are outrageous every time surfline pimps a new swell. After 35+ years I’ve moved on to fishing and we have a spot at Bahia de Los Angeles. Look it up but it gets windy as fuck Dec-April. Beautiful area tho. PM me if you need any intel I know Baja like the back of my hand. Always willing to pay forward a few nuggets every now and then.
