If I buy a headache rack, it's going to be for function. Not whatever this is.

Headache racks, they come stock on the hilux which is pretty cool. Best of luck finding a decent one mate!

None of them hold any real function what so ever, (unless you want a light bar in a ridiculous place). They are Raptor lights for your bed, which is fine if that’s what you were after.

In Montana people install headache racks to keep things like firewood from hitting the glass. They have metal screens across them. These kinds, the 90's lightbar style ones, what you are referring to essentially have no purpose. If lights are your intention, there are tons of more modern and much better options.

Why are you thinking about getting that? Back in the ‘80’s I had one of the first Mazda 4X4’s regular cabs and dolled it up with a double single roll bar with 6 KC highlites. Was great back then but not sure what use that has other than looks. I would pass IMO.

I agree with everyone else. Can’t see a purpose for it. It’s useless.

can’t remember exactly but old neighbor had a Dodge Ram and he had one of these racks and mounted a spare tire somehow to it. But still, takes up 50% of your bed.

Someone has a build here that actually looks good with one of those. It's kind of a resto-mod themed version.

It's your truck OP. Do what you want. That's just a very expensive aesthetic. And yep, we all love that Back to the future taco!

Hopefully this is sarcasm. Do not let anyone on TW influence YOUR TRUCK and what YOU want to do with it.

How many trucks do you see lifted that only crawl malls? How many PRO grills do you see here? How many lights does one truck need? How many trucks with MT rubber that have never been off pavement? And so on and so forth.
I’m sure none of the people crying about this ‘useless’ mod have done nothing useless to their truck.

You do you man. Be original. Not enough of that around this hive mind.

That's actually called a roll bar and yes it's useless unless it's welded onto to the frame below the bed. Headache racks go across the back window to prevent material entering the cab.

I've also seen them called chase racks quite a bit.

All you haters have no imagination!

OP, buy that roll bar light rack as mod #1. Mod #2 is to get that white truck vinyl wrapped in true late ‘70’s orange / yellow fade colors.

    Build your own “Wolverine” homage!

(BTW - to date myself, when I think of “Wolverine Pickup Truck”, I think of this rig - which also had a roll bar!)
