So does anyone’s driver side head rest constantly move up from getting in and out of? I like it down the whole way, but it finds its way almost fully up just from me getting in and out a few times.

One-way locking mechanism allows free movement up, and only stops them from sliding back down after they’ve being positioned higher unless the button is depressed.

If it’s an annoyance, a two-sided Velcro strip might do the trick.

I just got a 2025 Tundra and it's doing the same thing. Annoying as hell.

I didn't notice it until you pointed it out.

Headrests auto up and manual seat height auto down! Hopefully we'll get some TSB fixes for this stuff soon.

I honestly don't even like the headrests in my 25. I like my back to be flat against my seat and that headrest will not allow it because of how much it slants forward.

Will the TSB for the seat height going down be a a cure for people big butts sliding across the lever?

This too, I tried to swap out with the back ones but they made the posts narrower. Go figure.

I just flipped mine to face backwards. It was annoying the hell out of me not being able to tip my head back to drink my coffee in the morning:frusty:

I am pretty sure it is. Every time I see someone complain about it here or somewhere else online, I ask them to put chalk on the lever and report back if the chalk disappears. No one has every responded to me....So my guess is the chalk disappears.

Bummer that we still have to discuss this after complaining for seven long years of Gen3, but….for the love of god, can Toyota just kaizen in a lousy drivers side grab handle, so people can hoist their rears over the front seat when they get in? Its absence only stands out further in Gen4 with the increase in step-in height.

We have a power tailgate & seats with shock absorbers that exactly zero owners asked for here, even a Super Bowl commercial bragging about grab handles, and yet…

I did same thing and the first oil change and technician flipped them back I told my service writer about it and I was told they can’t let the truck leave and not fix a safety issue. So stupid bet if I took them completely out of the truck they would not replaced them so why flip them?

I was able to bend the two bars of the driver's seat headrest on a new 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse to get the headrest positioned to my liking.

I placed the headrest in a large vice and struck it a few times with a heavy hammer. I was able to get the bars bent in parallel with a few adjustment taps.

    It worked.

I am impressed with your ingenuity, although I haven't personally the willingness and confidence in taking a hammer to my new headrests.

This governs the regs on headrests:
