Hi all, this forum has been a great resource in the past - but now I'm stumped with my 2006 tacoma and need some help...I've found little to no information on this problem online.

When I turn my turn signals on in either direction, my 4 way hazard lights flash.

    - I took the entire hazard button assembly apart, everything seems to be in order. Didn't see any loose wiring.
-I replaced the marker light bulbs. With the lights on and 4 ways flashing, it appears all the bulbs outside work fine.

Turn signal and hazard fuses are good.

My only other guess is the relay - it's clicking as I expect it to do, but I can't think of what else this could be. Help appreciated!

Has it always been this way since you bought it, or did this just happen? Has anybody done any creative wiring? Stereo? Headlights? Trailer lights?

Strange. I can't even speculate how you would go about diagnosing this. Logic would tell you that it must be the flasher, but I dunno. If you decide to replace the flasher as a guess, be aware that there are 2 different types of flashers. 1 for with DTRL and 1 for without DTRL.

Literally sitting in front of the parts store now as I read this.
Forgive my ignorance - I don't know what DTRL is....

Daytime Running Lights. The front turnsignals are lit solid anytime the key is on. You need the correct flasher for your truck. Some Tacos came with DTRL. Some without.

No they're not. Different number of pins, different type of connector, mounts in a different location on the fuse block.

Hmm, maybe you are talking about the 12-15 units?
Because there are several guys on here who have added 09-11 DTRL flashers to their 05-08 trucks

Thanks! Think this is the right one. I managed to stick my phone up behind the fuse panel and snap a picture of the existing one. They look identical other than this one is black and the existing is white. The text on the block itself looks to be the same.

This is a pic of the flasher with DTRL. It's that box on the right side with the wires plugged onto it.

This is the non DTRL flasher. The finger is pointing to it.

Then I'm pretty sure you bought the wrong flasher. You should have 1 that looks like this. Lower is the flasher. Upper is the grey plastic jumper block needed for non DTRL[IMG]

    Ahh. Damn.

Well, the flasher looks the same as the one I have - but it didn't come with this jumper block.

The jumper block will be there. You don't need to replace it. Does the connector on the flasher you bought look like that connector on the fuse block? 8 pins?

    It has 8 pins, yes.

I'm about to start taking apart the dash/knee panel so I can get to the damn thing.
