I don't know man. Lots of the trucks at SEMA are also butt ugly. I've always been of the opinion buy once, cry once and that a vehicle should look good, but maintain functionality. If lifted then put supporting mods in to keep it usable. To each their own, but to me that isn't a very good looking vehicle and it doesn't look very functional to me.

When you are on an island and don’t really have a ton of places to offroad, you get a lot of people turning toward street mods and somehow a style is born out of that. Makes total sense to me. These guys are pretty pumped about their Toyota’s and I can appreciate that.

Well said. I’m not down on these trucks. It’s interesting to me that this style exists. It’s contrary to so much of what people typically go for with Tacoma mods.

Looks like it would do great off-road, especially the sandy beaches.

I always see the pictures of people riding along volcanoes in the picture thread and just assumed Hawaii was full of places to off road.

Wait, there are not a lot of places to off-road on Hawaii?

I don’t believe there are. Not like we have here in BC. On the big island maybe, but I’m no expert.

Interesting. I always thought there would be forests and shit to go wheel in.

We are so lucky in BC to have unlimited trails here, I wish I had more time and money...:pout:

What I find interesting is a truck like this. King Shocks puts huge research into developing their reservoir shocks for performance, yet on this truck, it’s just decoration (I would assume no high speed desert running in its future). Seems there would be a good market in Hawaii for fake Kings that just looked the part. Funny to think all that money spent on shocks for their appearance alone.

However, as others have said, fellas getting stoked about modding their trucks is fine by me.

Well, it’s all for show obviously. Just like people wearing fancy gold watches, rings, bracelets etc...
