Hello all, Has anyone used any Pioneer speakers ? What do you think of them ? I am currently looking at Pioneer TS-A693CH for the front but am having trouble deciding what to use for the back. I will be using an amp, probably in the 55 watt/ch range. Thank you for any help or comments.

I'd pass. Pioneer has made a lot of great gear over the years, but have never been known for speakers. You can do better.

I've never owned Pioneer speakers, so can't comment about those specifically. But I have never heard anyone rave about Pioneer car speakers. They are almost certainly a step up from stock, but I don't hear anyone lauding them.

If possible, you should try to listen to speakers before buying. Everyone's hearing is different, and every speaker reproduces sound a little differently. What sounds phenomenal to one person may sound like hot garbage to another.

Something else to keep in mind is, simply replacing factory speakers with aftermarkets doesn't always result in "better" sound. Sometimes the sound quality is actually worse, especially if you retain the stock head unit and/or don't add an amplifier. Many aftermarket speakers are more power hungry than stock speakers, and if you aren't pushing enough power they will sound worse than stock.

FWIW, I've had Focals in all of my vehicles for the last 15 years or so. My high frequency sensitivity isn't what it used to be, so Focals "brightness" helps compensate.

Edit: I just saw you plan to add an amp. That should improve the overall sound quality, regardless of which speakers you choose. If you are keeping the stock head unit, you might also consider adding a DSP (or get a DSP with a built-in amp). Adding a DSP will dramatically improve the sound quality, and let you fine-tune the output to compensate for variations in the speaker response curve.

i've never been terribly impressed with any of their offerings over the years. most are good factory-replacements, but it's also easier to do better in the same price ranges as well.

fair warning; their pre-packaged crossovers sent me on a wild goose chase for a non-repeatable high-volume distortion issue for 3 years, so i'm a bit personally soured on the brand as well. i do check out their newer offerings when i can, as i still love their radio settings screens.

Thank you all for the responses/help. I am trying to find a better than stock component 6x9 for the front, use tweeter in stock location under $200 and a coaxial 6.5" under $100 for the rear. I will be using an amp about 55w/ch, with the stock head unit. Thank you all for your help.

I ran a car stereo store for over 20 years, here is the best advice I can give you. Listen to speakers before you buy them. However I do have a problem with people using local stereo shops demos to look at equipment and go buy it on the internet. Now that I’m not talking to customers I can say what I always wanted, if you don’t value the investment your local shop makes to have equipment on display enough to pay a little extra to buy from them then you should go use the internet's show room, there is a reason they can sell cheaper.

I use Pioneer 6.5's in my regular cab amped with a kicker amp and sub and they sound good, but not as good as the Infinitys in my
    double cab.

When I was at Best Buy, I used the TS-G series as stock replacements if a speaker blew (or in a GM truck/suv, the speaker rusted out.)

Anything beyond that, I avoided them. Had them all on the wall to listen to and they just weren't for me.
